Ebay fees paid late - bully boy tactics by Transcom
Comments
-
I was late paying my eBay bill recently too (due to an absurd Money Transfer issue with ICICI bank, described elsewhere on MSE).
I started getting these calls from Transcom several days after I brought my eBay account bang up-to-date - so there is obviously some issue of communication and integration between eBay and Transcom.
They can waste their time all they like - The bill was paid in full (and fully in compliance with eBay's payment instructions) well before I even heard from these cowboys, so they can go talk to eBay about "charges".0

My situation with Transcom (UK) Ltd is totally bizarre. I have a debt collection letter from them for the sum of £39.73 on behalf of ebay.
The address is almost correct - though it has the letter "a" after my door number. There is no such address. Also, it is addressed to the wrong name - one that doesn't remotely resemble my own. I have lived here on my own since 1987 apart from a couple of tenancies when I moved away for several years. However, the most recent of those tenancies ended in 2002 - 12 years ago. I cannot remember the tenants' names as it was so long ago - though I'm sure that someone would have demanded payment before now. Apart from that, it's well over the six year rule anyway. I wish I had looked more closely before opening the envelope as I would have marked "return to sender - not known at this address".
The other thing is that although I have an ebay account, I have NEVER used it for selling. I have bought a very occasional item but that does not attract a fee.
Their address on the letter is Limewood House, Limewood Way, Leeds LS14 1AB. They have their bank details and a reference number.
After reading this thread, I prefer not to contact them because they will presumably alter the details and start harrassing me. If that happens, I am quite capable of driving from Sussex to Leeds and bypassing any legal constraints.0

To update, they have just called me again today.
 So to summarise:
 1) 2 x calls 07/01/2014
 2) 1 x call 06/01/2014
 3) 1 x call 02/01/2014
 4) 1 x call 30/12/2013
 5) 1 x call 27/12/2013
I have also received a text message from them in the meantime. I think I should write them a letter. This is harassment. Can anyone else advise?
companys are aloud to call which ever numbers they have from the accounts you provided the numbers actually 3 times a day anything after that is harressment. so if you have mobile, landline, and work tell that can be 9 times a day.0
