When you are over this far, its not too big of a deal to go the extra flight to the maldives. I think I am more excited by the prospect of our honeymoon than our wedding at this stage!!
This made me laugh, I wasn't really a wedding person (love the ideals of marriage, but not weddings) but I love travel. As soon as we booked the honeymoon to the Maldives, my H2B said "you seem to be a lot more into wedding planning, not that we have booked the Maldives". :rotfl:Due to get married in 2014. :grinheart

If I may, a flight free suggestion for you......
Hire a luxury camper van and explore Europe. Go wherever takes your fancy taking in different places and contrasting experiences every day. My other half and I did this between Calgary and Vancouver (we didnt have flight issues) and it was great!
I hope this helps!I don't like getting old, but its better than the alternative!0 -
Likewise, we want to go to the Maldives but just don't think the budget will cover it. So I need some help....we didnt specifically budget for the honeymoon so, so far any extra we have saved will go to that. Also, we are hoping for monetary gifts which will also help.
So...any suggestions of somewhere "budget" to go that doesn't feel budget? Any bargain hunters know how to help me?0 -
Getting married in July and just finalised honeymoon and booked it at the weekend We are flying to Dubai for 2 nights, then going on to Kenya on a safari for 3 days the flying on to Mauritius for 9 days. We are so excited H2B says we may never be in a position again to be able to do something like this and you only get married once!0

tulip this sounds amazing!!! :T:T I hope you have a really lovely time *quite jealous*
We have booked to go to Turkey for a week to an over 18 only 4* hotel about 5 weeks after the wedding, we both would like to start a family quite soon after getting married and figure this will (hopefully) be the last time for a while that we can go somewhere without kids running around. I've never been to Turkey before though I have been abroad a fair bit and looking forward to it.
I plan on booking a couple of nights away in the week after the wedding though as we have the week off together and it would be nice to go somewhere. Any UK suggestions for 'cheap and cheerful' as I will undoubtedly be skint would be very much appreciated!:j Married to the Love of my Life 02.08.2014 - Now I'm Mrs E :j
