We're going to Germany :). We both absolutely love it (my OH is a bit obsessed with it). We both enjoy Motorsport, so maybe the German grand Prix or some other racing event.
  • We're going to Croatia (again). We absolutely love it there and there's so much to do. As it's our honeymoon I've talked him into a hotel for part of the trip rather than self catering. It'll be a music festival on the beach, a few nights at Plitvice national park, nice hotel in Dubrovnik and then a week in our favourite fishing village on the Dubrovnik riviera. I'd love to go a bit further afield but he's very sensibly convinced me that the money would be better spent on the house.

I'm jealous, Croatia is a great idea! Especially as you know you love it already! The Plitvice lakes are the most beautiful place I've ever had the privilege of visiting...breathtaking x :T

  • I also live in Edinburgh so I am very biased but it is a fantastic city. I think the idea of a little mini trip to Amsterdam with DFDS ferries from Newcastle is great too. Amsterdam is one city I could say is almost as nice as Edinburgh *grin*
  • A very Good idea is at Santorini island in Greece. If you are Planning to make your Wedding at your Honeymoon in Greece a good selection is Santorini island.
Just try to contact Chara and Frantsesca from FC Event Designers in Santorini .They can answer any questions you have for a beautiful marriage on Santorini.

I know what you mean, a couple of other people at work are getting married too and having their honeymoon in the Maldives or Caribbean, we will two kids by the time we're married next year so not really an option for us. Instead we're going away for a cheap week in the sun straight after the wedding with kiddies (and in-laws!) then the year after having a long weekend or week just ourselves, also motor sports fans so looking at the F1 calendar to tie it in with a Grand Prix. Not your typical honeymoon but technically I do get two!
I know Amsterdam quite well, it is actually a very nice city. Let us know what you decide x

if I may...I'll balance things up.....our honeymoon was in dorset...beautiful places and nice coastal walks....

We had a fantastic week just chilling out and doing as we wished.
Wherever you spend your honeymoon you will look back at it as one of the most special times you spent together.

We're getting married 31st May and haven't booked anything yet, we're thinking of going to the estate agents the day after and asking where we can go... bit of a surprise!

I also live in Edinburgh so can safely say you'll really enjoy yourself! :)
