Thanks - This is exactly what I was looking for - My aim is to stick within the law and my intention is to only watch catch-up tv - so this method is perfect for ticking both boxes.

    Good bye TV licence :-)

Yeah yeah, stick within the law eh. We all know you'll be receiving all the live broadcasts simultaneously, recording them on multiple tuners and uploading every show to bittorrent. :rotfl:
    Just don't let them in!;)
  • I've not watched live TV since moving over to On Demand content, no need to when everything I want to watch is available via this method

Blackbeard's post #21 is good, pretty well balanced, advice, for anyone who doesn't want to pay the TV licence. My advice to anyone in this situation would be to buy a PS3 or a YouView box. PS3 is ridiculously versatile.
But if you want to watch or record live TV, please pay the licence!

I also think that the Talktalk service is good VFM (£15.50 per month for unlimited broadband, the YV box and access to all the free players). It's just a shame that you are effectively paying for a £300 box and never using all the features.

There are other cheaper options available, whose features vary: NowTV Box, Roku, Apple TV, PS/3, Xbox, etc. etc.
