Hey lovely
So happy to read about your house news! You must be soooooo excited
I can't wait to hear all about it.
The deal with 63336 (is that enough 3s?!) is rubbish and they totally suck. You deserve better than that - as do everyone else who works for them. Hopefully buying this house will leave you in a position where you won't need the extra pennies anyway.
Have a great week honxx

Hi Kim
What a wonderful update. Might be worth posting about the holiday on FB, you never know if someone might want it.
Its going to be a really challenging time for you now. You have to be sooo careful not to accidentally get into more debt with the pressures of wanting to decorate and furnish your new home in as short a time as possible.
From someone who in their rush to get their house renovated and moved in wracked up 20k of debt, PLEASE take your time, pool what furniture you both have together and do it gradually.
Then maybe you can make over-payments on your mortgage, especially as all your bills will be paid with a double income now :T.
What does boyfriend think about YNAB?. Will you be getting a joint account?. It might be a really good idea as you move in and get a feel of what your bills will be, to run a YNAB account for the household bills. Would be easier if it was out of a joint account, but at least you will know how much you both need to put into that account each week/month to cover the bills.
God I am such a budget nerd.....Getting so excited for you xxxx

Thanks Steph
Yes, it is exciting - and it's going to be hard not to slip back into a little more debt with moving in expenses. My boyfriend has always lived at home so he's been able to build up savings, he's covering the deposit, etc. - but it's hard for me not to be able to help out much. I may have to use a bit of the credit card to get some essentials, as there's some bits of furniture we will need. I will try to avoid it as much as possible but I just might have to lump it for a bit. If only I'd discovered these forums and YNAB just six months earlier it could have all been gone by now!!
But after the initial outlay, yep, all bills will be split, so whilst they'll be a bit higher (obviously, as going from a little one bed house to a four bed!!) I'm still going to be better off monthly.
We've already worked out a (generous) estimate of what our monthly bills will be, and are going to transfer a lump sum every month into a joint account for all bills, groceries, etc. I definitely intend to keep using YNAB for everything, and I'm sure I can get him on board with that, as he sometimes uses a spreadsheet anyway. I can't imagine life without YNAB anyway!!
Not sure on a moving date yet, but things are moving fairly swiftly, there's no chain or anything - so we fully expect to be in plenty time before Christmas. I can't wait to be moving in!!0 -
How lovely if you are in before Christmas I wish you all the best and I am sure that he will love YNAB especially if he is already into his spreadsheets. xxCiaerda:T0

Hey chick
Fingers crossed you're in by Christmas as that would be amazing. I'm sure you will be as there's plenty of time between now and then (I know, I'm trying to convince myself too!)
Have a great dayxx

Hi FU
I expect you have been a busy bee and not had time to post. But just typing up a "We miss you" post and hope all is well.
Give us an update when you have time xxx0 -
Just wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Hope you all continue well into 2015 on your MSE journeys. Thanks so much to all of you who supported me through 2014. I'm not quite where I hoped I would be, but thanks to the support I received here I'm in a much much better financial place than I was this time last year!
We moved into our gorgeous new home two weeks ago. Everything has gone well, and now that all finances are split, it allows me to relax a bit. The credit card should be fully paid off in June (without paying a penny of interest). I of course went madder on Xmas presents than I intended (like I always do!) but it's the first year in several that I haven't had to rely on credit cards or overdrafts to get me through. Moving of course has had its expenses but I've managed without much problem.. I've just had to pay a bit less towards the CC than I'd have liked, but it hasn't particularly set me back, maybe just means it'll be a month or two later before it's cleared. It's a small price to pay to have a beautiful new home with my lovely boyfriend...So yes, everything is great here.
Have a fabulous Christmas and a very happy (and debt-free) 2015 everyone! xxx0 -
Merry Christmas Kim. Great to hear you are all settled now in your new home.
Will you be keeping up your diary until you have killed off the last cc? I hope so, would be great to hear how you get on xxx0 -

I'm planning to Steph! In the new year I'll be back with a better regime (hopefully). I plan to reignite the strictness I had with myself at the beginning of this year, so I'm planning to update regularly again xx0 -
