Yay!!! Well done to you and the wee one, I'm so pleased to hear you've done it:T
You're right, there will be accidents but they'll become less & less as time goes on.
Regards the nursery, it's a pity they are a little unsupportive although I appreciate they've probably got loads of toddlers all at the same stage to deal with!
Our nursery was great, there is a huge basket of clothes in the cupboard for days when there are accidents. You can always tell! You send your son to nursery wearing blue jeans & he comes home wearing a pink skirt:rotfl: Just kidding!
Just make sure when you get your tot to nursery, you take her to the loo before she goes in & hopefully that'll reduce the chances of her going back into pull ups.
Well done again though, thats great news :j

I think potty training was much easier before disposable nappies became common, as the discomfort was a spur to be clean.

    .
A friend told years ago when she was struggling to her son out of nappies that he was too comfortable with his nappies so she bought very cheap ones from poundstretcher and he hated them and soon started using the toilet.

When I felt DD was ready I bought a cheap pack, one day she wore them for after one fell down (she was skinny and these didn't fit snuggly and were heavy when wet) she said she wanted pants. I took on board a tip from my sister that go day and night in one go so she had no nappy that night, just a potty in her room and she was fine.

Not sure if cheap nappies are as bad quality these days are they were 17 years ago!

  • For anyone struggling ....

One of my children was a nightmare (he is a teenager now!). My problem was that he genuinely did not care if he was soaking wet and would just carry on playing happily which made it harder. It was a really struggle and even when he was a reception class in school we had a fair few accidents. I think it can be one of the most stressful things you have to do as a parent with toddlers. Yes every child has accidents but it can be embarrassing, especially when everyone else has got their child dry at 18 months etc. I used to get lots of other parents giving me "helpful tips" but I followed all of the advice and it didnt work. With my boy it just took a long time for him to get it.

But we got there in the end and it is now just a distant memory. You just need to persevere - for some it takes longer than others.
