Mrs MP your mil must be feeling very lost at the moment. She needs to be more independent and will be happier if she can achieve that, you may need to be cruel to be kind.
Helen sorry to hear of your further problems. Big breaths - you can deal with this.
Well, an exciting day. Managed to fly a bit before number 3 gs arrived this morning - so a few bits and bobs crossed off the list.

Number 4 grandson had arrived at 12:05, he was just 25 minutes old! Needless to say not a lot else was achieved. We had our WI meeting this afternoon and this evening we cracked open a bottle of bubbles to celebrate the little one's safe arrival. Mother and baby, and father for that matter, are well and hopefully mum and baby will be home tomorrow.0 -

Sweetie you won't because you cannot fill her loss. Don't beat yourself up about it. She needs to grieve and find her own new norm however much she may resist this.
you have hit the nail on the head, she wont grieve, its like shes trying to pretend it hasnt happened. all photos of him have been taken down along with all the lovely oil paintings he did that used to be hung on the walls. He doesnt get talked about - except by me as i want his grandchildren to remember him. DH handled it badly and still finds it difficult himself i think he feels guilty that he couldnt stop what happened and it was me not him who went hospital etc with them. its very rare she visits the cemetery. when she does she just stands and crys and says she misses himthen asks to come home, but as soon as we get in the car she starts chattering about something totally random. we had a lovely dr who dealt with fil during his illness and she had regular appts with mil just to talk to her she tried to persuade her to go to counselling but mil said she didnt need it, she was just working towards cutting the antidepressants down through the spring so that mil might come off them but that dr left and now she just has one who happy to give her the antidepressants on repeat prescription without even talking about why shes on them or if they help. I go to her drs appts with her and she will talk about her bad knee or random cough but the happy pills dont even get brought up by either of them they just keep getting given. In my opinion they arent helping they are just masking.
thank you all for being so understanding it does helpSPC~12 ot 124
