Debt collection letter for NPE and lost appeal rejection letter

Well that was easy and pain free. i just phoned the Co op head office and the first person I spoke to said she would send out a cheque for £149 to cover the charge as they are having trouble getting them cancelled so easier to pay the charge.

Write to the parking company as the registered keeper:

Served Legal Notice of rejection of charge:
As your parking company have failed to issue a POPLA code in response to the charge appeal the Keeper discharges liability under the POFA.

Write as the registered keeper of vehicle 896bbm in receipt of parking charge 0876985
Legal notice of discharge of POFA is served one working day from postmark.

Keep a certificate of postage.


Then if this cheque does arrive and they are all hot air, you are £149 up.

They are barking mad! The Co-op has literally flipped! Do not actually PAY this charge yourself.

Before you got the cheque they "promised"
Oh dear, you are on the wrong forum here, you could have had an easy £149 to spend.
If they failed to provide a POPLA code, they had no keeper liability to rely on.
Now, if that cheque does not arrive... the difference between £149 UP and £149 down is £298 !

Not a very MSE outcome! You seemed convinced you had to pay and yet £149 is too much under POFA2012 and you could have paid nothing. Even if they'd taken you to small claims they could not have made £149 stick! I feel you have been stitched up, very sad, a joke in fact. Wish I had never advised a Co-op complaint, I wish you had carried on ignoring this in fact, as you have acted so rashly it's astonishing.

This is terrible news on a thread where you were getting good advice and you were ONLY getting debt collector threatograms that everyone gets.

No-one pays, not even MSE newbies pay these things!

I thought it would be dishonest not to pay it and I wanted to get it over and done with before more charges were added on top. I'll let you know if the cheque arrives....

ERR, but NO, any parking company that gets £149 is not a success .
If this cheque does not arrive, you have just been mugged.

What you are likely to get is a letter telling you it has increased, you then say, I paid £149, they say sorry out of time and you now owe this as well.
They are Scammers you know.
