im 'Yes' the latter. 'No' the former.0 -
Given that HL is offering free in specie transfers to those who are prepared to complain, the only reason to transfer in cash is if you don't want to wait 8+ weeks for the transfer to go through and don't mind selling and repurchasing (possibly at a loss). It makes even more sense to transfer in specie with III, since they'll pay you £10 cash plus £10 trading credit for each unique holding (up to a total of £240). That offer's now been extended until the end of April.
thank you again masonic.
with 3 holdings in my Fund & Share account, 12 in my ISA and 8 in my SIPP... am i best to simplify down to 12 holdings in total, in order to maximise the benefit of this offer? and do these credits apply to all 3 types of account? also, anyone reckon there is scope for any negotiation on the way into III?0 -

I wouldn't make any changes you weren't planning on making anyway. HL should waive its exit fees and it seems they are now doing so without putting up much of a fight. You will only get the offer on a total of 12 holdings across all the accounts you transfer in. I don't know if there is any room for negotiation - III don't have such a large slice of profit as HL to carve out further incentives from.
thanks Masonic. i think i might 'tidy up' in advance of moving across to III.0 -
Could someone link me to where I can see the funds available on iWeb please? Specifically looking for Vanguard funds and SL GARs. Thank you.0

If you can't find it, that doesn't say much for iWeb's website, does it?0

You dont need to be signed in.
From Homepage:
Market Information>Funds centre
Search on 'Vanguard' or whatever0 -
"fund centre" doesn't give you a complete list. e.g. it seems to show all the vanguard UK-domiciled funds, but none of the irish-domiciled ones. but when you log in, a few of the irish funds (not all) are also available to buy.
without logging in, the PDF about conversion to clean fund classes (homepage -> "From 31 March we've making changes ..." -> "Find out more about the changes we're making to funds trading" -> "conversion guide") is perhaps more accurate. i'm not sure if it agrees entirely with what's available to buy when logged in.
also note that iweb may have funds available to buy but not in an ISA, when there is no reason why they couldn't be allowed in an ISA. i queried them about a few specific funds (via email), and they changed their status, so they can be bought in ISAs.0 -
having just logged into iweb, there are the same 24 vanguard (UK) funds available as in the PDF (well, i didn't check they're all the same, but i think that's the full number of vanguard (UK) funds, counting INC and ACC).
there is a 4th vanguard (IRE) fund class, in additional to the 3 in the PDF, viz.:
UK INV GRADE BOND INDEX INC (Mex ID: VIUIGN)
so lots more vanguard (IRE) funds are not available.
of those funds available, 1 vanguard (UK) fund is not available in an ISA:
LONG DURATION GILT INDEX A ACC NAV (Mex ID: VVUKLD)
and 2 vanguard (IRE) funds are not available in an ISA:
SRI EUROPEAN STOCK DIS NAV (Mex ID: VIANDU)
UK INV GRADE BOND INDEX INC (Mex ID: VIUIGN)
i'd think all those funds should be available in ISAs. probably worth asking iweb, if you want them.0
