The new fees will be charged monthly in arrears from March, so by March 31st.

An in-specie transfer is unlikely to be complete by this date, see the Leaving HL with exit charges thread to see how to escape both transfer charges and increased fees.

thanks. i need to get cracking with this. but expect to be selling some holdings in advance of any move.

Interactive Investor because the fees won't rise while my investments do ............. hopefully.
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?

Can anyone provide comments with regard to Interactive Investor on:

    1) Website functionality and ease of use
    2) Quality of customer service
    3) Financial strength (i.e. Who are they? Are they well capitalised and profitable? etc)

    Any info would be appreciated

(Edit - our holdings are all in equity funds, approx £400,000 in total of which about £120,000 are in ISAs)

For anyone thinking of moving to Interactive Investor, I see their transfer offer has been extended from 28th Feb to 30th April.

So gives people (including myself) more time to consider their options.

    1) The website is fine for its purpose though is fairly basic compared with H-L.
    2) No long waits, helpful and knowledgeable.
    3) No idea.

but who are the genuine alternatives to HL, that offer ISAs and SIPPs, that allow you to hold Funds, UK Shares and US Shares within both wrappers?

are there any HL alternatives which allow trading in US shares other than III?

anyone? if not, it looks as though i don't really have any choice...pay a fixed fee and save money with III or stick with HL and their charging a percentage fee.
