I usually use my points at Argos. And when they have a 'spend £100/50 to get a £10/5 voucher' promotion, if you are using Nectar points (ether in total or as part-payment) and have spent the appropriate amount, you still get the money-off voucher.

OH has already, I got one and Sainsbury's aded my points to his card instead of mine so I gave up

I was all set to have a go at Sainsbury's last year. I'd not been well and not been out (DH had done the shopping) yet points seemed to have disappeared off my card.

Then it dawned that DH's card and mine are linked! No idea how it happened, don't have joint cards for anything else.

I don't understand people complaining about poor value for points etc. If you're going to buy stuff in Sainsbury's anyway (or Tesco or anywhere else with loyalty cards) then why not have one. You don't have to shop there exclusively. Yes, OK, Tesco Rewards may be better but it's about a 15 mile round trip for me to get there so why would I??

Not necessarily - the bulk of mine come from providing online meter readings to British Gas each quarter - something which I'd do anyhow and which costs me nothing.

And Nectar adpoints each week for a few extra. ;) Im on £37 worth and the only time I spend any money to get them is either Sainsburys petrol or Homebase if Im in there.:T

I wish Nectar will understand that I don't spend £50 each week. I have only spent £50 in a week, three times last year - one week when the clothing and the wine were 25% off, when I bought Fifa 14 as spent £30 on food etc on top of the game and when I bought the fresh turkey and a couple of bottles of spirits last month.

So why are they starting to give me 200 points vouchers when I spend £50?

I may have to redeem my £15 of points on the card and get a new one.

    Not necessarily..

You can also collect nectar points through their search bar , through the "adpoints" website, and through other internet "specials"

    Plus points for
. buying certain items - been given and used many 40 points when buying bottles of 4 pint milk. I buy the orange top £1 milk and used the coupons on that.
. Spending a certain amount. It's annoying why some customers get 80 points for spending £20, but others get 400 points.
. Buying a certain amount in a product area. My latest few have been on cereals, wine and bakery products.

For a freebie they are definitely worth it. You get points from a variety of places, this year I have had points from:
    Ebay
    Boux Avenue
    Homebase
    Currys
    Argos
    Dotcomgiftshop
    Dorothy Perkins
    Sainsburys
    BP
and it's all been on things I was buying anyway.

My points for 2013 have bought me Amazon vouchers, Winter boots, a BBQ and sunlounger and the Christmas turkey.

    I would really recommend it.

I thought you only spend nectar points at argos but not collect? Please can someone tell me if it is possible to collect nectar points for shopping Argos in store?

I thought this was the case too. I hope I haven't been missing out on collecting points from Argos!

Incidentally, I always spend my saved up points at Argos. It's useful when the odd small electrical item breaks down. (I "bought" a new shredder with them just before Xmas.) I don't get many Nectar points these days as my Sainsbury's shopping has reduced drastically but every little helps!

To encourage and lure you to spend more regularly! They want to encourage you up the spending ladder.

Could you get two or more week's worth of dry goods and non food shopping at one go to get the points? Would you be able to get it home?

We don't shop at Sainsbury's but we also get these money off/points for bigger shops from Tesco. We normally shop in Aldi, but tend to get most of our non-food purchases from Tesco, and there is the odd thing that Aldi don't stock we go to Tesco for. IF there is a deal on at Tesco for money off (not usually extra points as it would have to be a lot to make it worthwhile) we go there and bulk buy at that point. The way we see it if we stick to things we would have bought from Tesco over the course of a month we end up having a proportion of it paid for.

You can collect points when purchasing online at Argos ( via the nectar website ) . I dont believe points can be collected for instore purchases - though I may be wrong
