  • Mmmmm....this month is turning out to be expensive
So an extra long time till payday, catching up after Xmas spends and bill heavy :(

Tv licence quarterly, RAC quarterly, permits, guitar lessons, Exploreres subs, school shoes....

Need RAC as car v. old and kids love to leave lights on to make battery flat. Only happens though when I need to get somewhere urgently...had to catch a specific ferry to IOW where my granny lives (in her nineties!) and of course I had a flat battery. Think when this car finally packs up will not be getting a new one for a while....

    NS lunch
Only bought milk from corner shop.

Hope y'all are having a good 'un :)

    Oh forgot....car tax

Quarterly payments for tv license cost £5 a year more - there's a £1.25 premium each payment, as it's paying as you go and not in advance (which all the other payment ways are).

I'm in the same boat, just been playing email ping-pong for the last week with them to look at moving it to either annual or savings card. Just don't want another monthly DD at the moment, especially as you have to pay double for 6 months at £24-something, then it reduces to the standard £12.12 a month.

Another fiver saving in the making there :D

    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Every penny counts and every £5 definitely counts. I do monthly DD and my car tax is £30 per year **************** just away to polish my halo
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Aggghhh! After DDs have £100 left until 31st Jan! Not including car tax which is waaay more than yours MIT! Will need to use CC for it  which I will pay back immediately on pay day :T

One reason extra struggle this month is due to ex not giving money promised for kids xmas presents (were supposed to go halves):mad::mad: Got about a quarter of what I was expecting and a bit of game playing going on (he bought dd a TV...I told him to take it back and give me the money.....we hadn't agreed on a TV...she already has one which she doesn't watch.....but he refused to give me the money and bought ds ANOTHER present ...totally ridiculous :mad::mad:

You live and learn (taking me years!) Never doing that again.....

On a brilliant note: have had LUCK!!! Need to go on some training. Was offered a school day or a Saturday. If I go on Saturday I earn OVER DOUBLE a day's pay!!!!!!! Guess which day I chose..GET IN!!!! :T:T:T This is for April. Will get lots of extra money and escape my own kids for a day...now that's what I call a result!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Rach, I've got a similar worry next month that ex won't cough up the maintenance for DS. Usually stops every six months, I gee him up with emails and it usually starts again about 6 weeks later - so in effect he's getting away with paying 10 months rather than 12.

Better than nowt I know, but never know where I stand. So I've taken a decision that every month is now going to budgetted for not having it, then it'll be a bonus if it does come and I'll re-budget from there.

Just can't rely on them to come good.

Have you tried looking at other breakdown services - go through a cash back site and get some money back - just a thought. I have to wait until 28th for payday having last been paid on 15th December:eek: getting paid early for Christmas is not at all helpful. All bills paid just feeding us and the car but still swimming and dancing fees will have to waite.................
