Hi RR
Just stumbled on your diary and subscribed.
Similar age, no children but ridiculous number of felines (volunteer foster for a local rescue) also starting on this DFW journey from a LBM at new year.
Great to find a community who will support when the going gets tough!
MLittle steps and great strides both get you there.0 -
Oh thank you M
It's a funny old age eh? Well GOOD LUCK!!!! The support is great. I lurked on these boards for while before taking the plunge....can't put into words how much it's helped me. Am addicted! Will check out your diary too

I made it with 6 mins to go:)
Moan away RR. I dont have the experience of being a singleton but I understand how frustrating it can be. My OH is into his extreme sports which generally mean solo stuff so sometimes I have certainly felt like a singleton when the children were little especially as I all but gave it up/compromised/sacrificed etc etc.......ooh Sherlock about to start must dash! Have a good week:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Oh I understand Ig..... my sister says the same (her husband in the forces, lots of sacrifice etc...it can just as difficult but in a different way...and at least I can control the remote and be a total slob whenever I want...haha
Thanks to you my kids got dinner tonight.....had to set myself a target too (although been on here waaaay too long)
Got to get some good Karma this week! I can feel it in my bones x£2 Savers Club 2014 £54 £20 Jan £14 Feb Mar£8 April £14[

I would much rather mine had a good relationship with their Dad but I reckon all the initial fighting between him and I ( I was devastated as he had an affair) destroyed hope of that. In saying that he should have considered them worth fighting over. DD wrote him a huge e-mail a couple of years ago about it all and he didn't reply for about 2 weeks. Said to her he was crying whilst replying to her and that his heart was broken. Told her he would see her and talk it all through with her. Well I am glad she didn't hold her breath as she's still waiting. It all just proves to them what type pf person he is and I just pick up the pieces ..............and am glad to do it as they are my life
and I am the luckiest person ever to have them

Wise words MIT :A
I remember reading about that in your diary ( when I had a MIT diary reading binge! :rotfl:)
I totally agree... to make myself feel better I think 'I get to benefit from being with them through the ups and downs, it's REAL and although I want to tear my hair out sometimes and feel overwhelmed they are my life'
Just got to clear this debt, move, lose about 2 stone and meet a strapping young man!;);)

Found you and subscribed :j
I'm another similar age, single mum to just one scrummy DS (don't tell him that, he's just 13 :rotfl:)
DS and ex were close until ex announced he was moving to the other side of the world and wouldn't see him anymore  Difficult times.
So just me and thee now and maintenance is generally reliable, usually falters every 6 months - that'll be the Feb one that gets missed and will hopefully start again about mid-March. Am lucky to get it compared to many I appreciate, hence busting my debt is crucial in case he stops it totally.
Our kids will thank us when they're grown up, so I keep telling myself anyway

Just wanted to say hello from another single Mum - I have 4! 2 ex husbands - the first keeps his distance and I now don't need to have anything to do with him - but he is still as selfish so and so!!
The Second ex is not quite so simple - he causes lots of problems with kids - at the moment debating over whether to go to CSA - we had a court agreement as part of our divorce that he pays £50 a week - but that was 7 years ago - he is with someone else has a horse and several St Bernard dogs but can't pay for school shoes or a music lesson!!! I am not sure how much he earns so not sure if it is worth causing drama - but it drives me mad that he can drive a new car and feed his menagerie and not pay for the kids things!!!
It is certainly a rollercoaster - subscribing!!!0
