My cats don't like dry food but are getting it alternately regardless :rotfl: Thanks for advice...will defo look into it. It's brilliant how ideas are shared here. Would never have thought of that.

Ig......my cats are OK with flavours.....I think they have learned it's the school of hard knocks in our house! ;)

Well I shall be indulging in a glass or two of vino tonight. Usually a red kinda girl but tonight beggars can't be choosers and so am having white (left by mum on New Years Day). Couldn't resist as deserve a treat after shock of work return :rotfl:

Went to greasy cafe no. 2 today (Friday regular with 2 work friends) and only had tea.:A

Got to do a basic A$DA shop tomorrow, clean and batch cook.... don't know what yet but something we can eat all through the week!

Daughter has announced she wants some boots from sh%e z&ne because her friend has them and they are really shiny and have hearts on them  Now, if you knew how weird she was around clothes ........ she will only wear one particular dress, no trousers, no boots or wellies... maybe a long phase? Anyway so happy she wants boots finally am tempted to get....probs not too expensive...

Will go to our local market for fruit/veg on Sunday and have a walk over the 'marshes' with dd. Not too much going on. Their dad has said to DS that he may see them tomorrow...let's see shall we?

Take care all and have a relaxing Friday night

  • Well....not much cleaning got done

Very early shop at A$DA as got last minute call to look after DD friend. Mostly a good bargain hunt (got a couple of yellow sticker chickens for the freezer) and have tried to buy wisely to stop me going back for a couple of weeks....:money:

Bought a few 'luxuries'.....two plastic fairy wands for kids (money worth spent for a bit of peace today?) a magazine, some muffins and crisps.....

Managed to do the MOUNTAIN of washing up and have a bath :rotfl:

The house disintegrates gradually as the week progresses until it resembles a bombsite by Friday...will have to crack on with it tomorrow ready for the week ahead.

Listened to a bit of teacher bashing on the radio this morning and felt quite sad. The fear of inspection (which filters down and becomes part of the daily working culture) is so acute. From where I'm at, scrutiny is part of our everyday life. Training is difficult. Who and where are these awful teachers rampaging about the place? :(

Anyway, after that, had to have a lie down and watch a film (Before Midnight?) which was rather nice (although interrupted a million times with squabbles and demands for food and drink!)

Skyped a great friend who has upped and left to work abroad. :A

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday x

I use the excuse that I have to watch it because otherwise I havent a clue what the frogs are going on about..................actually in my case I would be better playing GTA to keep up with my 4 and 5 year olds:eek: I little bit of escapist TV does no harm..............but I do draw the line at wall to wall carp. The only TV we will watch tonight is Sherlock......aim to have everything done by 8.30pm then I will sit down and watch whilst finishing off the Christmas Ba!leys:D

Lodgers: we had one years ago before we had children. Nice enough and money handy but he ruined my very expensive fry pan:mad::rotfl: Can you offer lodgings for a student - then they are not around all year? A friend of mine does that - she has 2 from a local college of further education and they go home very weekend.

  • *moan alert* people!

    Had a difficult day today.....:(

Had to tell DD that she has another half sibling (which I found out about not too long ago....) My Ex could populate the whole of England the way he's going :mad::mad::mad::mad::rotfl:

I have calmed down a bit now but felt dreadful earlier...lots of horrible emotions and memories.......

Went on a mission to find DD 'vile' boots (I am by noooo means a snob but they are really gross!) and ended up spending money on a doll for her. (We couldn't find the boots so I compensated) Emotional spend (plus MDs) What a messed up day! I loathe the VAST shopping 'mall' near me. It was teaming with people...and I can think of a million ways I would have rather have spent the day...even cleaning :D

Needed to get out of the house and I think it did me good actually...so all not lost (and DD thinks Xmas has happened all over again::o:o:o:) )

It can be so frustrating as a single mum...emotional energy, money and time invested for years......then the ex pops up and is like the fun uncle who gets all all the good bits....

    Sorry moan over

Am alright now...must crack on with making the beds and putting the potatoes in the oven....thanks Ig for the 8.30 deadline!!!! Inspired me to stop moping and get off my !!!!!......:D

  • Great minds think alike eh GMOOD? :D

Well must be on the up because (inspired by Ig) I put a batch of chicken in the slow cooker and got on with it! However, poured a whole heap of chili flakes on top by accident (thought it would come out as a scattering duh!) so may have ruined it...will eat it anyway and so will DS!

The last of Friday's wine and a blast of music helped :rotfl:

Forgot to mention two things I managed to step away from at the shops.....B%dySh%p body butter (the grapefruit was particularly nice) and was reduced to £5 from £12...god only knows how I managed to resist? Also, vitamins from H and B.....(all in the name of making me feel better!!!!) I felt like a character in The Lord Of The Rings :rotfl: trying to resist the power of the ring

Thanks for listening guys xxxx Rollercoaster by name Rollercoaster by nature!

  • RR being a single Mum automatically puts us on a rollercoaster. My ex has given me some very rough times and I still find myself sticking up for him when he lets the kids down. I do it for their sake but now at age 19 and 16 I just get an 'aye right Mum' and a roll of the eyes. They know hin fine well but DS still hangs onto his every word but DD only sees him about 3 times a year, if that.

DS said to me the other night that his new phone contract has free 0845 numbers and I said 'smashing I can phone CSA and it won't cost me a fortune' his answer was I don't know why you don't give up on that Mum , he'll never pay. Even they know what a t w a t he is lol. So to hang with them all. Single Mums are the biz ;)

I know what you mean about your work being slated, We civil servants get that all the time and the majority of us do not deserve it. We may be doing unpopular jobs but it's just a way of making a living. One of my best friends is a secondary school maths teacher and some of the stories she tells me about the way parents act is shocking

By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Oh MIT thanks for that :A

My DS hangs on every word he says too.....It breaks my heart in some ways but he's a boy and 14 so I suppose I just have to step back......my DS has seen what I've been through and knows the score but they don't want to see it and why should he I suppose...?.:(

Well we all had a nice dinner and that's what matters at the end of the day! Mum keeps things on an even keel!

A good few weeks to go before payday....cannot wait :j

  • My cats (4 of the beggars) hated having dry food for 1 meal a day at first, but they accepted it after a while. And it makes it smell better coming out the other end too! I think I'd have them on permanent dry, but the worry of cystitis is too great (something mine have suffered with thanks to dry food & now it happens regularly).

My sister couldn't see the idiotic father in her life, until she was about 17/18... now she's learnt & hasn't spoken to him in years. They'll learn. It's not an if they do, it's when they do. Sounds like you've had a rough few days!

Yep, payday is far far away. *shuddered* checking my bank account earlier!
