He's not a trademan (I think) and it will be the occasional use - thus SDS is not appropriate, nor very MSE.

If he's drilling into Blues then he shouldn't be taking on the task anyhow!

Not saying SDS's aren't brilliant, as I have 2, and use them for core drilling and occasional heavy jobs - but I've yet to find a job fixing downpipe brackets to a wall where I need an unweildy SDS to complete the job...

Just the right tools for the right job this thread - and that's not an SDS :)

plus, you can still get an adapter for the SDS to take simple masonry drills

you can't use a SDS chuck adaptor on hammer ;)
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Can you not, having the proper kit I've never tried, only use the chuck for the plaster mixer etc:D:D
I stand corrected.:T (But totally aside, 1/2 my long masonary bits are cut shank SDS bits, far better even when not used in an SDS drill)

But, given my philosophy of buy well and buy once, I would get the SDS drill still. That can do both jobs, both hammer and drill, but the simple drill 1st and he will buy again later if he has any appetite for DIY
Not having to buy a better replacement later is also :money::money:,
But bottom line in my view is that anyone wanting to tackle DIY projects longterm will end up with both;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
