Giving presents is fraught with difficulty. Cheap tat or expensive tat or something more bespoke? I can understand regifting. Unless you know the recipients well whatever you buy or recycle is a gamble. Try not to take it too seriously its the giving thats important not the content.
  • I understand people can feel hurt if their gift is not appreciated (by finding it given away elsewhere) but gift receiving can be a real burden: I work with people burdened by too many belongings and a big issue is hanging on to stuff they don't like , don't need and don't want but feel compelled to keep by guilt because it was "a gift" - as though this makes it a sacred object they have to keep for all eternity.

It's very kind to spend ages trying to get someone something you think they would love, but the bigger gift of love is to recognise they might not and to let them pass it on elsewhere (though not back to the original giver!).
The love an thoughtfulness of the gift always remain and are separate to the object itself.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • How about a lovely book in hard back and write a nice message in it? Books make lovely pressies for all ages.

I don't there is anything wrong with re gifting but re gifting to the original giver, that is definitely not ok.

:o:o I may have regifted something back to the original gift giver :o:o It was mortifying although it was family and they made a joke of it to save my embarrassment. I have been far more careful since.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
