All of them, is the simple answer as the majority of his purchases he made he wasn't the first owner, they weren't new builds. He would just buy up ones which became available on certain roads on developements which were fairly new. I guess the idea was they wouldn't need renovating but would still be covered by the NHBC warranty.
Plenty of people would like to buy a home but can't save the large deposits needed.0 -

well, it must be right that he's very well off.
one could assume that his *net* worth circa 2007 was not really *all that high* since until then he very aggressively piled every single farthing of equity he had back into buying more property. but assuming that he stopped buying 10 years ago the basic fact that seems undeniable is that, well, he's owned a large number of houses for a whole decade. since then he's been paying very low interest rates for a very long time and at a very conservative estimate their values must have risen by at least say 25% over the same period... meaning that he's made certainly many millions, almost certainly tens of millions.
so, yeah, i can't quite fathom what he's still doing, pushing 70 & with presumably years rather than decades left to live [how many octogenarian men of his size have you ever met?] and miserishly fighting his tenants over every last toilet seat & bar of soap. I suppose he must, at the end of the day, really enjoy what he's doing and/or be incredibly anxious, for whatever reason, to squeeze every last penny out of his empire, at whatever cost to his own quality of life & that of his tenants.FACT.0 -

Do you run a Pie shop in Ashford?0 -
Fergus does enjoy winding people up.

He's banning people with beards because they probably can't afford his rents.
I'd be quite interested if a journalist actually tried to cut through the BS and write a business story about Mr. Wilson rather than just parroting everything he says.
Kent Live have responded by listing 10 famous people with beards.0 -
and in the local paper again
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/news/watchdog-takes-legal-action-against-125824/
Rebecca Hilsenrath, Equality and Human Rights Commission chief executive said: “We have asked the court if it agrees with us that Mr Wilson’s lettings policy contains unlawful criteria and, if so, to issue an injunction.
"As this is now formal legal action we will release further information at a later date.”
According to the Citizens Advice Bureau refusing to rent or let a property based on a race is unlawful.
Speaking to Kent Online, Mr Wilson said he was mystified by the injunction as the ban was not a matter of race. He said the last Asian customer to apply for one of his properties was in 2012.
He said: "I personally find Pakistani and Indian people like Chinese people to be extremely clever people and thrifty.
"That means a disproportionately high number of them own their own homes. Conversely, a disproportionally low number of them are tenants."
"There are two sides to every sheet of paper and behind what has happened is an aggrieved person who did not feed the entire story to The Sun and I am sorry they didn't."Ex forum ambassador

"I'm not racist but..."
very rarely ends well.
Not sure that he has a leg to stand on. Party because of his girth; partly because witholding a product or service from people of a certain race is unlawful even if there is an underlying economic reason based on demonstrable trends (which is doubtful in the particular instance we're talking about).0 -
