I find it funny why everyone bashes this chap... I know he may not seem 'ethical' to people (he's a businessman so does not have to be ethical), but this is a capitalist society and he's only doing what is encouraged and allowed under the law??
I'd do the same in this era of low interest rates where its hard to get any decent return the standard way, only I haven't got the bottle... his tenants don't have to live in his houses do they?0 -

TBH I'm not sure whether most of the negative comments are made from a genuine sense of moral outrage or plain jealousy0 -
He looks down his nose at just about everyone from tenants and tradesmen to shop owners. The man has the manners of a pig and the attitude to match.0 -

Trust me, I have absolutely no reason to be jealous of him (I would hate to be in a position where I was jealous of him, lol), but as a fellow landlord IF what has been reported about him is true, he has IMO been treating his tenants very harshly.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

The guy rents out close to a thousand properties, is a target of a hate campaign organised by the media and willingly lapped up by low achieving plebs and all they can come up with is a supposed scuffle with an EA and a dispute about a council tax bill.
The guy is clearly following the rules. All legal, all above water.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

That's the least of it. Wasn't there a scandal involving a cracked bog cistern?0 -

Fergus wanted a former tenant to pay for a new bathroom after the tenant broke the toilet and the tenant didn't want to. As a result they went to court to resolve the disagreement.
It doesn't seem like a particularly contentious thing. The courts were simply doing what they do: resolving disputes.0 -

Not quite true.
The tenant had already replaced the broken item.
In any case, the court ruled in favour of the tenant.0 -

In the context of this board does it matter? In the continued absence of any data about his houses, business or tenants the subject of debate is whether he's a bell or not and there seems to be a broad consensus he is.0
