How fantastic :T your photos are fab anyway but to get a bit of recognition like that wow!!

Is there a way you could send the guy a framed photo as a way of saying thanks?

Then maybe one day when you're not swanning off with pilots and the like, you may come back to us "normal" people ;)

Hee hee - I was more trying to keep out of the way and not trip over anything and make a fool of myself than swanning, I promise!

I'm going to set an online sharing folder up with all the pics of the chap so he can pass that to his family etc, and I've already said that anything he wants to get printed up for them I'll sort for him too.

Anyway - as a result of all the photo stuff it's felt like I've been working a second full time job over the last fortnight - routine has been get up, try to get a bit done in the morning before leaving home, leave at 7.30 for the day job, home at 7pm, dinner and then straight onto the computer to do photo stuff...not seen my bed before midnight since before it all started (apart from when we were away over the weekend when the charge on the laptop only lasted a few hours so I got TWO early nights - woo!) - I'm absolutely not complaining though, just well aware that I'm running on pure adrenaline at the moment and when that filters away I'm going to crash...so need to get back on track again.

    Money: All OK I think
    - All money shuffling for the CC bill was done and we had spare in the account. So that was shuffled in its turn over to the mortgage account.
    - My earnings this month will *just* have slack over the minimum for the month too - but August is looking dire so I'll stash that teeny bit of spare against that.
    - MrEH has been told he's getting a payrise...no idea how much yet but nice to know anyway.
    - Personal Spending - need to bear in mind that I've several hotel rooms booked for later in the year that have been part-paid in advance and will still need paying. Also got one more to book yet for a single night stay in Belfast in September.
    - Holiday account had over £600 left in it after the CC bill money was shuffled - which was very gratifying indeed. Nice to end one holiday with the accommodation for the next years already sorted and the cost covered! :D

I was thinking that I *ought* to work this friday - the work is here and I know this month is a bit low, but on reflection I think I need the time to sort things at home more. I have got to make up some hours to cover a half-day in July though so will have to bear that in mind. I also need to get back to meal-planning - although at the moment I'm working the other way round - buying what looks freshest and best and then cooking meals accordingly. That often works well for me during the summer months. I do need a bit of a storecupboard audit too mind - MrEH went to make bread the other night only to find out that we had no flour. Oops. :o

Just made £5 doing a certified copy doc in the office - they always insist I keep the cash if I do one but it's only rarely I'm here on my own when someone comes in for one! :D

Gosh you have been busy. Be careful not to overdo it though. If you take Friday as a rest/life catch up day, could you make the money/time up elsewhere for your half day?

Your attention to detail makes others hearts sing too.

Just remember, not everyone has the skilled eye and patience and dedication that you do.

You me love, make gorgeous memories, so deserve some good things like getting access to those lovely planes and folks. I really think you should have an exhibition..............just saying.

    :)

Laughing at no flour, I went to do something the other day and thought, oh dear no butter how did that happen. :D

I have to say, I'm finding that my meal repertoire is very 'winter' - which in this med-like-heat here doesn't work so I'm doing a bit of jiggery-pockery-play-it-by-ear too.

    :)

    Take Friday off, just saying.

You lot are lovely - I've got tears in my eyes here reading your lovely comments!

I'm definitely not working tomorrow - I can easily make up the 3.5 hrs for the half day elsewhere and I really need the "me time" at the moment - I have a list (A fairly gentle one!) and intend to just potter all day tomorrow - there will be some photo sorting but also some more random house/me stuff. :)

An exhibition is definitely NOT for me but I have decided to put a little more effort into promoting my photos generally. Submitted a feature idea to a photo mag last week but have had a polite "thanks but no thanks" back from them. I'll do a little research and see where else I can submit the idea to though. Will also plug my stuff on Flickr, and the Facebook page a bit more. Twitter is also snowballing a bit at the mo so need to keep that trundling.

Dinner last night was salmon salad - some more of the lovely Hebridean salmon got consumed - and tonight is MrEH's choice as it's his birthday, and he's chosen a fry-up. :D

I have also done a "brain dump" of everything I've got going on over the next few weeks, and worked through what I need to do financially to cover it. Helpfully the tin I have sitting on the side which gets random (the last couple of £ coins's in the purse) dumped into it from time to time now has around £80 in it, so that's been decreed "Airshow/RedArrows goody fund" and will be makings its way to the shows coming up with me! :T Nice to have guilt-free spends! :D

I like the exhibition idea too EH - 'Flights of Fancy' - a collection of your wild bird and metal bird pictures :D Actually, I am serious because I was thinking of you on holiday.

We saw a bird (well, there were several) on one of our walks, by the coast and it was flitting in front of us and up into the brambly/bracken/broom that you get. Anyway, initially, we thought that they were greenfinches, but the colouring was too yellow, even the green was more yellowy iyswim. So I managed to get a (totally crap) pic of one bird and back at the ranch, there was a bird identification book. Now initially the pic yielded no clue, but thankfully, by managing to enlarge the pic (went really fuzzy, but I digress) we managed to spot some markings on the head which identified it as a male yellow hammer. Now, I can say for certain, that on a day to day basis, I don't come into contact with yellow hammers, and I can't categorically say that I've seen one before - irrespective of whether I could identify it or not. We did (luckily) spot another little flock of them the next day, when we were at a different part of the coast.

So all ^ is an extremely long-winded way of saying that there would be much interest in your pics, as you see things that many of us don't get to see .......... :D
