My GC started yesterday, I should be reporting my Asd* SM delivery from yesterday however it hasn't arrived as yet, fuming!
I am pleased to say that I came in under budget for Feb, by £4 which has gone to the college bus fund :j
When my delivery arrives I will amend my signature to reflect the spend!

Spent £5.85 in Morrys this morning. Brought sweet corn, tonic water and large piece of cod fillet which was half price.
Tonight we had the fish in Italian fish stew which have never had before. It was quite nice and DH had seconds as he likes fish a lot more than me.
On the subject of buying cheaper squash - I did this and brought the 30 odd pence bottle but found it so weak it was costing us more than the 99p bottle we usually get from A!di plus the bottle was smaller. However I have no problems with the 17p lemonade and prefer it to the more expensive one. Its just what suits you and your taste buds. Good job we are all different other wise the world would be a pretty boring place with no choices.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
STILL trying to catch up! Will definitely be able to catch up a bit on the thread later tonight.
I have lots of points on my account with the Book People (I order books for my DDs PTA/School and so have managed to accumulate quite a few). I ordered a book for DD2 for her upcoming Birthday (April) & also ordered the book 'A Girl Called Jack' (AGCJ). Both for a grand sum of £2.95 postage & packing. Very pleased!
The books arrived yesterday and I came home and decided to use the AGCJ book straight away. The index is very handy. You can look up a main ingredient and the index lists the recipes that use that ingredient. I had a left over aubergine (bought for a meal that was later cancelled for a meal out) & decided to make Baba Ghanoush for my lunch today! I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed! It was rather bland. Maybe a few herbs or some more cumin another time.
I won't be beaten. I am going to try making the soda bread tonight to go with tomorrow's soup lunch. I'll let you know.
I've done my 3rd main shop of the month today. I'll add it all up & feed back later2017 GC O-£93.46/£160; S-£136.26/£160; A-£130.55/£160; J-£47.12/£160;

Paid an unexpected visit to Tes0s with OH today so decided to get what was on my list today instead of the weekend when I will be busy. Spent £30.55 and I have amended my totals. It did include some items that were not on the list and as I don't usually shop in Tesc0s I bought some stuff they had on offer.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

NSD today; we are off to Makro tomorrow afternoon but I have already accounted for this months share of the spends. Depending on the offers available we may shop tomorrow for the next six months instead of three as I have the extra cash available (will just pay myself back over my maternity leave) As such I won't be counting the spends as being from my GC budget - although we may also head to the 'normal' sm and do next weeks shop for fruit, flavoured water etc
Bf ordered a pizza delivery today as a treat for it being my last day at work so no cooking and no spends************************************

Second weekly shop for March and spent £11.16, which included £2.79 on Oven Brite cleaning kit. Pleased with that, though did a double shop last week using the £5 off voucher, so it was just fresh veg, milk and the odd thing needed for meal plans and packed lunches.
Brings total spent for March to £49.99 - am on track and we have a full freezer.
Made double choc chunk muffins last night and batches of cottage pies, bolognaise and cheese and onion potato cakes at the weekend.
Tonight was LO duck in pittas with HM wedges. DS is loving the wedges - I'd not made those before seeing lots of people including them in meal plans here. So thank youA healthier option than chips too.

I have bought a lot of lunches to go lately (don't count these in my grocery challenge, it's a once in a while thing) but it has meant a lot of little bits and bobs have ended up in my basket. Despite this, I am currently sitting on £20/80 for the month. I've been away for a few days, which makes a difference.
Still on a mission to run down my freezer and cupboards. Mostly the cupboards are filled with herbs, spices and seeds and the freezer is filled with meat. I see a lot of curries in my future...0 -
sarahb1989 thank you for the above tip on freezing chopped peppers, ours go off sometimes before we have finished them and I hate having to throw what I couldn't cut offChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
