Flip JIL think I would have gone rummaging in the bin to find the cake after all ITS CAKE. Seriously some people will throw food out even if its a day out of date.
So far I have spent £120, will have to cut down in the next couple of weeks, but plenty of food in the cupboards and freezer so will start planning.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Just a quick update with spends form the weekend - £9.35 in Li*l, got 4 packets of the mince that were on offer, some of their yummy fresh rolls to go with our Saturday night dinner (my first attempt at slow cooker pulled pork - wasn't terrible, but think I need to try again!), hash browns for our weekend fry up, and a few packets of seeds - I've included these in the GC as it was all for veg/herbs, which I figure will all be *hopefully* eaten eventually!!
I went through the freezer the other day and listed everything down, there really is enough to last for meals for the month, but I find it so hard to resist buying things, especially when it's a bargain!! Need to be very strict with myself, and get using the slow cooker more (it's a new one so I'm still getting used to it!) so I'll be hunting the threads for recipes!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -

An NSD today for me too - hurrah!
Just rooted out some Tesco vouchers which I'm going to take in on Wednesday - should enable me to stretch my budget a bit further. I think I might have been overly ambitious aiming for just £30 this month - going to give it a good go though!0 -
£10 spend for me yesterday on bread, yogurts, salad and *whispers* chocolate!
Will update signature later x0 -

I have 12 chicken drumsticks in the fridge as well as 3 pkts of mince and some cooking bacon before I even start on the freezer so we should be fine :A
A NSD today will raise my daily amount left to £5.70 or £1.42 a person, this will be slow progress£36/£240

Well, got the weekly shop done last night. Altogether £30.31, which leaves £129.69 for the month.
£7 Superd***, £1 Soda Crystals, £15.02 in Al**, £7.29 in Te****. We have about 6 months worth of meat for DH in the freezer we ordered from the farm, and loads of staples from Approv*d F**ds, so we really shouldn't have to spend much. Still got the cat food and cat litter to buy, although it can wait till next week.
So far, so good! I'm within budget!Live the good life where you have been planted.

I would like to have an input here , I am a food technologist and have been working for several companies, supplying the retailers for approx 20 years. the company i work for produces products for all the retailers apart from M&S , Now a few things i know may help you all
1). most products are produced at the same factories for most retailers: only slight differences in recipe such as more butter /or slightly more fibre/ or more or less sugar etc for a finest product compared to a Ald* core brand. and most retailers compete with only tiny % of butter or cheese difference. asd* chosen by you V waitr*se standard product same recipe apart from a 1% extra fibre on one of our products :T
Thanks for the insight into this, Zippy001! Really interesting to hear how similar products from different retailers are.
By the way, I can't remember who suggested breaking dishwasher tablets in half but THANKS whoever it was! I tried it yesterday and it worked just as well as the whole tablet. I have the ones with the ball and just used a knife to cut it in half. It's odd that I have never done that before- I have used less laundry detergent than the bottle says for years :doh:March GC £122.25/ £120

Been off line over the weekend so lots of posts to catch up on! Just posting to declare £15 on foodie bits on the weekend and £60 on booze, but that's for 2 months, so have only added 30 to signature. Off to catchup!GC 193/1500
