Hubby gets paid Monthly so money wise it would be fine to do it monthly and I am thinking this might mean less is wasted. However do people who plan monthly get bored of what they are eating knowing so far ahead? and to the people who do food plan monthly do you write what you will be eating every day for a month or do you have a list of meals that you can make during that month?
We only plan a weeks worth of meals at once, mainly because we don't currently know what our other plans are more than a week in advance. We record every meal in our diary, then flick back over previous weeks for inspiration. We aren't high-tech enough to use something like a spreadsheet!GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."

We plan weekly or sometimes fortnightly. I love to use a notebook to record what we'll eat...and if we have leftovers or have found a B1G1F offer on something that we wont eat in the current meal plan I note it on the next page of the note book so that we incorporate it the next time we're thinking of what we fancy/what we need to buy.0

Well I went to day and did my morris ns shop to use my vouchersX2 I also had 2 £5 off shopping vouchers from petrol which didn't get used at Christmas. So got 2 £40 shops for £25 each and also got 10px2 litre off petrol vouchers to be used before 9th March. So I should only need extra bread and milk next week. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0

Have you tried snapping them in half! I read on a thread about it and started doing it about three weeks ago. I have noticed no difference in the cleaning and they last twice as long!
Oh that is a good tip. I am going to try that. I get the cheap smart price ones, or cheapest in h&B but that is a good idea.
I have been washing a bit more myself this week to save some money, but like your ideaThanks

I print out a blank monthly plan and then normally fill in three weeks worth. My 5 year old likes helping with this! My fourth week I normally fill in nearer the time and is normally stuff I have picked up on offer earlier in the month or if we change anything earlier in the month I can move it to the final week! Hope that makes sense!
What a fantastic idea thank youI am going to try my food plan like this next month
To all the bottle feeding mummy's as I put eailer in the month I have spent a lot of little formula bottles for when we are out. I got to thinking today would it be an option for me to carry 2 flasks one with boiling water and then I would put a little of that in the bottle when I wanted to make up with the formula and then one with cooled boiled water and I would top up the bottle with that. Does that make sense? I am thinking it's pretty much what my prefect prep machine does at home?February GC £261.97/24 NSDS 10/12
