A spendy day today for me - Ribena Plus was half price in Tesco and I love my Ribena so I bought five bottles (!). I also picked up some colour care shampoo which was also half price. I home-dyed my hair yesterday and the last time I did it around christmas the colour (red) washed out by three weeks so I'm hoping using colour care shampoo and conditioner will prolong the life of the colour. I've already got the conditioner so just needed the shampoo and it was £2.49 for 900ml (Tresemme) which I thought was a pretty good buy. Sig duly updated.

  • Hi all,

Just did the first shop for March - came to $52.70, which I was pleased about. I have an offer from the sm for a $15 voucher if I spend $50 for the next three weeks - it's more per week than I had planned but I figure if I plan it well I can stock up on staples for later (and maybe not spend anything for the last week of the month :)

Bought some veg, bread, toiletries, house stuff and toilet paper.

Hubby took ds1 geocaching yesterday afternoon so while ds2 was having his afternoon nap I decided to crack on in the kitchen! I made three pizza bases (using half a bag of pizza base mix from aldi (so 50p), then when they got back ds1 helped me to top them. Pasta sauce (as I had ran out of passata), ham, peppers, onion, sliced tom (all needed using up!) and cheese. We put two in the freezer for anothe night!

I then made some bagels! They were so cool and fairly easy. We had them for breakfast this morning! Yum! The recipe made 10 and I used 1/3 bag of flour (25p) sachet of yeast (7p) and a couple of spoonfuls of sugar/salt so about 40p for ten! I froze half for next weekend!

Also made some choc chip muffins with eggs that had just past the date and choc chips that needed using up! The recipe said 12 but think my cases must be smaller as I made 18! They were yum and the perfect size for little ones.
I felt very good using all this food up that would normally have been thrown out!
