  • Been shopping this afternoon, spent £20 on cat litter at pound land, which will last us ages, £8.17 in Farm Foods, £66.42 in Lidl & £7.28 in Tesco, so £101.87
Overall I'm fairly pleased, got lots of bits a pieces to get back into doing some cake/biscuit baking as don't tend to do that much these days, so looking forward to getting stuck into that tomorrow :D

Sig updated post Chinese New Year bash .. As ever, more was spent than expected (could not resist bag of cashews in Chinese Supermarket) .. Plus had to pop to Tescolditz for loo rolls (do they eat them?) and shampoo

The stock of staples still looking good .. Loads of meat etc still in freezer .. Only things wanting is flour at present .. Popping into Mr T's on the way to the cinema tonight, so may be able to grab a cheap loaf or two for toast brekkies

  • Anybody else see Food and Drink this morning with their "budget" recipes? Particularly entertained with the desert for four - bramley apple and blackcurrant souffle costing only around £2 per serving, accompanied by a £7 bottle of desert wine  Wishing my food budget would allow that, I need to stretch that £15 over at least three full days worth of meals for three of us (me and two teenagers who are bottomless pits that cannot be filled) and it can be done :D

Tomorrow is the best ys day for meat I find. I'll go to MrM at 2pm, MrT at 3pm and MrS at 3.30pm. I hope you find a ton of cheap ys meat x

    Hi everyone,

Welcome to icklejulez - do you want to post a budget for the remainder of Feb? If so please PM me or write in RED so I can spot it and add you to the list.

Spent the day with my BFF and had lunch at a trendy pub. Had a mahoosive club sandwich which came with fries and salad. End result was no dinner needed for me. Children were looked after by grandparents today (as DH is away) so they were treated to KFC for lunch. Children more than happy to have cheese salad wraps for dinner. Easy peasy.

Last night myself and the children had Aldi pizzas with coleslaw and green salad. The pizzas were lovely :) so will definitely get those again.

Tomorrow we will have roast chicken, roasties, Yorkshires, carrots and cabbage. Which reminds me....must go get the chicken out of the freezer ;)

    Have a great evening all

  • £8.09 spend in Tesco today, but that means only thing I need from here til Friday is milk! Then away for weekend but have cash put aside for food then and boyfriend is taking me out for a meal too. Discovered gnocchi in the dry pasta aisle for 65p - that'll do 3 meals with some chopped bacon, pasta sauce and mozzarella at about 70p/portion overall. And bought pesto as recently discovered that I can boil a mugful of lentils with a stock cube and a tablespoon of red pesto to make about 3 portions of really lovely soup (actually more like whole lentil slop as I don't have a blender, but 'soup' sounds nicer!) for mere pennies.

A spend of £21.24 today mainly on meat. I got a full chicken, a kilo of mince and chicken breasts. I also stocked up on bread, plain and sr flour.
It gives me the bases of a load of meals.

My amount left per day is now £7.50 and I have all that in:j Thankyou everyone for getting me through that doubtful week :T:A

I'm about to make my meal plan for the week to ensure I stretch the shopping out over the week.

  • Doing well with NSDs so far this month :j

Did the weekly shop yesterday at Aldi and we only spent £14.72 so happy with that. We weren't expecting to spend much because we've got a full freezer and reasonably full cupboards.

I had a go at making Twinks hobnobs from the index a few days ago and they are fab! Hubby also really enjoyed them so will be making them again. We made another loaf yesterday so hopefully that will last for a good few days.

We shouldn't need to get anything until the next weekly shop, apart from maybe some ham or chicken for sandwiches.

Currently spent £53.46 out of our £160 budget so £106.54 left. If we are careful, we should easily come in under budget, so fingers crossed! Hope everyone stays safe with all of the bad weather - bring on Spring!! x
Thank you to everyone who posts on here :)
