i get all my toiletries and cleaning products there, and their bleach is as good as high priced bleach too, might be worth you attempting this and see if it saves you and making sure you only get what you need?

    Hi everyone,

I've got £51.92 to last me until the 31st Jan and have just been shopping and bought stuff for the rest of this week so it's only next week I need to buy for. Went to the Co-op this morning for some of their Persil on offer (£3.74 for 25 washes) - I usually use the Aldi washing liquid but for some reason I don't think it smells as nice anymore. I also got a YS chicken pie and some dog treats on offer. Then I went to Lid! and got F&V and milk. Hopefully I can stay out of the shops for the rest of the week (apart from maybe some SS from Ald!)......:)

Whoops, just realised I've posted on Febs thread instead of January - sorry!

I use tesco toilet roll 9 pack £3.50 ( we use one of these a week)
Herbal essences shampoo and conditioner (I stock up on these when they are on offer, we use 1 each a week)
Bubble Bath (whatever's on offer at the time no more than £1 a bottle)
Shower gel (what's on offer, again no more than £1)
Lynx spray (I stock up when on offer)
    Tesco face wipes
Colgate max one toothpaste (I buy this when it's half price at £1.99, I know this is very expensive but no one wants to change this)
The girls use body sprays but they can buy these themselves because they use way too much.
Andrew toilet wipes ( I'm going to stop buying these once my stocks run out)
Venus replacement razor heads (2 packs of these last us nearly all year as we don't use them that often)

    Cleaning products I buy are
Air freshener sprays (£1 each and we use about 2 a week)
    Polish (£1)
    Window cleaner
    Toilet cleaner (£1.50)
    Dettol surface cleaner (£1.50)
Kitchen roll ( whatever's on offer)
    Bleach
Laundry capsules (I use tesco own brand but I am willing to try powder or liquid, whichever is cheapest)

I think that's about it, I would be very interested if someone can tell me some good alternatives especially for the lynx Africa spray

re air fresher, I have saved a small fortune with these by buying a bottle of zo-flora £1 , putting a capful in an empty spray bottle and topping up with water, the Springtime fragrance is lovely.

That's a great idea, and it's better for the environment

    Hello everyone,

May I join please? There is just me and my hubby so I am going to aim for £200 for the month of February please.
  • First spends which I will take from the February budget - starting a few days early but going to keep it going until February 25th still. Popped to Morrisods to take advantage of a deal on nappies ended up not having the size we are looking to stock up on but spent £9.45 and got the following:

2 packs of Cox apples (7per pack) on bogof £1
2 nets of oranges (6/7 per net) on bogof £1
2 packs 'trimmed' leeks reduced to 25p each
    1 round lettuce 57p
1 cucumber 65p (sorry but since when were whole ones more than 50p!? Especially for the size they are now!)
1 pack warburtons sandwich thins reduced to 19p
2 packs of rice crispie bars on offer at 99p each
Small jar of 'savers' sliced beetroot 39p
    1pack 'savers' dried apricots £1.17
T-shirt for baby - 3-6months so a size or two up than we need but we have lots of newborn/0-3 - £2

The T-shirt doesn't come from the grocery budget though so £7.45 out of the budget.

As the month will run for 4.5 weeks once it 'officially' begins I'm going to break it down by the week in my signature (lumping today's spend in with next week) with each week begining on a Saturday and ending the following Friday. Just for my own reference really so I can spot any week spots etc (e.g. when bf is away).
Bf is away this week (until next Tuesday) and I have plenty in for that period seeing as I bought fruit stay (really missed my piece of fruit at work today! So am going to stretch what I have in. The only thing that might run out is milk but I have alternatives (e.g. making porridge with water instead etc)

    Sorry I'll stop rambling now!
