  • Ahhh will be nice to finally move out of January!

I am officially jumping back in for February with my month starting on January 25th and as I've already bought bf's cereal bars and we are stocked up on meat from my January Makro shop I am going to try for £75.

This month the budget needs to cover:
*lunches and snacks for bf and I whilst at a tournament (3days) - estimating £10 for wraps, smoked cheese, smoked ham, fruit, squash, savoury snacks and maybe a sneaky treat or two!
*lunches everyday for both of us - mine varies but bfs is always seeded wrap with lettuce, smoked ham and smoked cheese; crisps, biscuit
*3 weeks of evening meals for both of us and one week just me - going to sit down and make a 'flexiplan'
*cleaning materials (should only need fabric conditioner)
    * general toiletries (currently only need: toothpaste, hair gel for bf)
    *breakfasts for me

My intention is to make use of my parents oven on a Saturday morning two/three times to make cakes/treats (we are FINALLY getting our own proper oven soon!)
I really want to move away from some of the convenience/prepared stuff we use particularly veg however the only decent market is on a Tuesday and Friday when I have work-not sure what to do about that one yet.

At the tournament (31st jan-02nd Feb) I will be 8 months pregnant (!!! Last clue of months have zoomed past!) So won't be doing my usual business on the side lines - just lots of shouting and directing rather than lifting and mechanics duties! Nor will I be feeding the entire team (a welcome change!) So will save a bit then ;-)

Off to sort myself out for the day and start making my lists!

  • Hi Denise, yes it is for the whole month - it is only me here and I am quite content with simple foods and the same meal for 3 nights in a row.

It is much harder to do if you have someone else to please.

I'm in again please. I'm going to stick to £170, since I have simply not been able to spend much on groceries this month so we've been eating out of the cupboard and that will have to be restocked. Our month starts on the 30th again so its still a while away.

Hi all! Wanted to join for Feb (my month runs from 15th to 15th) and between Boyf and I we get £200 supermarket vouchers a month (benefit from work- we buy them pre tax direct from wages).

Had planned out meal plan for the week; sent Boyf off with a list of milk, fruit, veg & eggs and he came back all chuffed having spent £100!!!! Half the budget and it's the 18th!

Sooo all stuff that can be frozen has been portioned up and crammed in freezer and now working on new weeks meal plan using the farm of veggies that he has bought (I was chastising him but laughing at same time as he bought my fave veg but didn't realise I don't eat them all in the same week ;-D )

I'd like to join in with budget of

    £200

Please and we have spent £88 (£16 of his spend was on a PC part so he'll pay cash back to grocery purse for that)

Hoping that my leg heals up so I can go shopping next week and will only buy the essentials as the freezer is back to being full!
    Fingers crossed!
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Thank you and i will start on 1/2/14 to 28/2/14
  • I did a big shop today and spent £11.06 in Aldi and £13.79 in Waitrose. This though should do me until next weekend. Especially, when sorting though my freezer today I realised just how much food I have in the house already.
    GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50 :)
    Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £70

Hi all, my month doesnt start until February. I am doing really well in January and I had set myself the budget of £450, just under £300 at min with 1 shop left, so Can you put me down for £400 in Feb please, so have brought it down by £50 (bearing in mind I was spending £600+ monthly towards end of last year!!!!)
