Hi, I'm back for February with a budget of £250, having not joined in January due to being on holiday for the first half of the month.
My month starts on Friday so final shop for January will be Thursday, which will need to be a fairly small shop as have had to spend quite a lot since coming back from holiday but at least the freezers are fairly full so hoping to use up some of the contents this month.

Hi,
I'm joining in Feb if that is ok? I am not 100% sure what I spend currently and I really need to. I hope that joining the Grocery challenge will also help me to identify areas where I can cut down.
There is just me and my DS who is nearly 3. However, with nursery and seeing his Dad I generally only need to think about lunch and tea for him two days a week so it is mainly just me.
Please can you put me down for £150 (I really hope my total isn't this much) and my month started yesterday. I did my first spend in Mr S today and spent £3.80.
Just a quick question do people include money spent on takeaways and meals out etc? Sorry if this is a stupid question
Look forward to getting to know you all a bit better as well as picking up lots of handy hints.GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50
Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £700 -

It's up to you what you include. I only include money spent on food, toiletries etc, ie things I can buy in the SM. Takeaways and meals out are separate budgets.

Hi, I have big bills coming up that I want to pay off in Feb, so I am going to be really strict with myself and allow just £40. I am sure I can do it! :j31.5/1000

I'll be in again for the month please with a budget of £260 continuing to reduce it at £10 a month. I won't spend that this month as I don't have enough money left to spend:( My meals are planned until the 24th though when I do get paid. I will need all that budget next month after running things down again this month.
My budget covers all meals for 2 adults and 2 teenagers as well as toiletries and cleaning items. We can't afford takeaways and eating out for birthdays comes from groupons or livingsocial offers.£36/£240
£5522

Thank you for your response. I am pretty similar to you that money for treats such as take aways comes out of a separate pot. Therefore I think I will take you lead and just record what is spent in the supermarket etc.GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50
