If only we could see what lenders actually see when they look at a credit file....probably variations of "don't touch this €$%^^% with a barge pole" in big red letters."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

Your credit rating will get good when you get a job and start paying your bills.
You paid for a worthless number with your dole money? Numpty.
Excuse me, what gives you the right to talk to me like that? at least I am not a dole dosser who sits down watching daytime tv and smoking weed and drinking and going down to the pub all day and putting bets on.
I don't smoke, never have and never will. if I want to buy a new mobile, does this make me work shy? no it doesn't. I just need a new mobile as what I have now is so embarrassing as its just a basic phone cost £10 from orange. its rubbish and trash! I have to hide it when I am in public towns as I don't want people seeing it.
Also most mornings when I am in town centre around 10am I always see the same people butting bets on, going to pub drinking, I can tell they are benefit scroungers the way they are dress. at least I am doing Job search every day and going in town and handing out CVS ete.
How the hell can they afford to go drinking everyday is beyond me
So don't tell me what I can or can't spend my JSA on, at the end of the day its my money not yours. by the way before you state this: it was your money/taxes but then it was the goverment and now its JSA claimants.
Everytime I go signing on, I always see chavy people, and smoking outside waiting to be signed on, most of them don't seem to take serious about looking for work, bet they just smoking outside waiting for they signing on appointments and waiting for they dole money to hit they banks so they can buy drinks and drugs/fags.0 -
Credit scores are pointless, the credit score it's more of a money making gimmic that the credit reference agencies sell to get more cash out of people, your better off putting the money you pay for experian each month into a savings account and only buy a statutory report from them once every 6 months I think they are only £20

don't get wound up by the numpty pet, you can clearly see they're an idiot by reading a few posts above.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
And, a Vanquis credit card does nothing to improve one's credit rating.
Incorrect. Lenders do not see the name of your other lenders so would just see a credit card account. Probably with a low limit to start off with, but this can still help strengthen your credit history if managed well.
Applying for and taking on any new account is likely to cause your credit rating to drop for a few months, which is why we encourage people to space out their credit applications.

If your credit file is without any defaults paying the vanquis card on time may or may not help, although it has not worked for me i have had one for 3 years paid off in full every month but because i have 2 defaults my rating has not improved (according to ALL 3 CRA) so i have to disagree with the comments above, i have this in writing too (every other account i have btw has been paid on time in 3 years too incl my mortgage!).......0

Could all children please put all their toys back in their playpens please?
Thank you !
Now, I used to have a Vanquis card which was alright for a while but when I got a little behind in my payments they changed its name to Vampire card. This is not a company that you want to default on, because the interest is obscene and they will only just stop short of sending Skullcrusher Smith round to collect your debt in person. So as another poster wrote, treat this like a second chance and use it responsibly."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

i 2nd that, they are vile if you miss a payment and it snowballs so quick you cant catch be very careful with the card minimum payments are easy to keep up with but you will never pay off the card with the high intrest they charge, look at your statements very carefully and see how much you actually pay off with minimum payments ..very scarygoal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A0
