Credit rating very poor

Options
I knew my credit rating was not that good but I was shocked when I signed up to Equifax and find that my credit score is: 114 (Very poor) as of 03.01.2014

Oh well most of you know that I have been accepted for a vanquis credit card and should get it soon and I am sure my credit rating will get good with vanquis :D

These scores are a black art, totally arbitrary and meaningless.

Every lander has their own criteria.

Use your Equifax report or signup to Noddle and see if there are any negative aspects to your credit file (Defaults, Electoral Roll, high amount of searches etc.)

I agree, the figures are useless, for example Noddle says im 1/5 .... but experian say 977 excellent :j

They both have the same info on them, although Noddle is not kept as up to date it would seem.

Your credit rating will get good when you get a job and start paying your bills.

You paid for a worthless number with your dole money? Numpty.

  • I wish there was an advert on TV that would come up after the Experian or Equifax adverts just to say the score that you will get from one of these sites it useless and does not mean a thing.

Get a credit card designed for bad credit and that will improve it. Also manage your money well and do not over spend on the credit card.

The OP posts enough nonsense on here that the must have seen at least one of the numerous Equifax / Experian threads.

There's a certain section of society that remain completely oblivious. The OP is too dim take on any advice. TV adverts won't make a blind bit of difference.

And, a Vanquis credit card does nothing to improve one's credit rating.

A Vanquis card is no different to any other card regarding improving your credit worthiness .

A lender would look less favourably on a Vanquis showing up in someone's credit report, than, say, an AMEX or a Barclaycard.

So in that regard it is different.

And do lenders see the names of credit accounts?
