I have sent about 500 Parcels with Parcelforce over the past two years maybe more and they have not lost any of them and none of them have got damaged ,1 or 2 have been a day or two bit late but overall very happy with the service they offer and price is not bad either.

I would be interested to know who is better as they must be amazing,i will give them a try.

As a Courier company I am biased about us compared to Parcel companies. However many moons ago when I ran a pub, one of my customers was (and probably still is) a director for DHL. He said it stood for Deliveries Hopelessly Lost. I make him right, lol. Kind Regards Sarah

At the moment, through http://www.senditquicker.com you can great cheap service using DHL at a rate of just 5.90 for next day delivery! That's great value!Regarding DHL v ParcelForce, one of the considerations (and ways to mitigate chances of foul-ups) should be where the depot nearest to you is located. If you can establish good repoir with your driver or depot desk persons - or even better, if you can take the item to the depot yourself - you stand a lot better chance of being a happy customer. Even if you book with these eBay middlemen, you can usually request the tracking number and tell them that you'll take the pracel to the depot. The advantage is no waiting for the driver and the knowledge of knowing that your parcel will be on its way.

You could have a look at http://www.interparcel.com , they use various courier companies and because they appear to be passing some of their discount on to the customer it can actually work out cheaper to use say DHL through them than using DHL directly.

I tend to find interparcel very expensive compared to the £5-£6 tariffs available on Ebay for up to 31.5kg
As for booking direct with DHL.....Anyone doing this is probably not aware of the cracking savings they could be making going through an agent.

I spoke to payperdrop (Ebay selling agent for DHL)and they said that as the driver issues the tracking number at the door and they don't send a confirmation,I will be unable to take my parcels to the depot. In an earlier post I did mentioned that Parcelforce do take your parcels in with the confirmation email you get from the seller, providing that seller uses them for your collection. Then tracking number will be on the email.I would be happy to learn otherwise about DHL.

I may need to ship a Bedford CF bumper and front grill complete. As this is appx 2m wide my usual £5+ courier won't take it.
    Anyone know of any cheapies.
Maybe one of those furniture couriers on Ebay might do the trick if they are passing Gatwick area to Lincolnshire.

I use a company called postmehappy.com and I'm more than happy with them :D

They do UK24 delivery for £10.99 and UK48 for £9.99 via parcelforce.

OP's MHDirect seem to be having problems as do many of these cheaper resellers, looking at their website message.....
