Hi Everyone :hello:
Now im fed up with DHL, they keep messing up, damaging parcels badly and worst of all, loseing them! I know not every courier is excellent, but dhl seem to be really poor IMO!
I have been searching for a parcelforce seller/shop for quite sometime since itdistributionuk stopped trading on ebay. I have now come accross a company called "MH Direct Couriers"
They offer the Parcelforce 24 service for £6.75 and the 48 one for £6.25, as well as Highlands, Northern Ireland, By 9am, 10am & 12pm services, at very fair prices. They also do UPS for over £22.99 with £1000 of insurance, and an extra £1 for each £1000 of insurance!
Their Website is: http://www.mhdirectcouriers.co.uk/services/
Im sorry if i've woffled on a lot, but i thought i would share this with you!
Hope it Helps

Can I ask why you have written that ? Is it just an opinion or have you had experiences, A bit of clarification helps!
Personally the only parcels iI have had go missing/damaged in the past couple of years have couriered, not by PF. A Box of wine disapperared, and my delivery of books must have been stored in a puddle,--- just reallised that happened twice
from two diffferent book companies!0 -
Well, in my experiance anyway, Parcelforce are MILES BETTER than DHL!
I prefer City Link to all of them, but i dont send enough to get an account with them.0 -

I work for a wholesaler so we send about 50+ parcels out daily. And we tried using PF for our UK ones for a little while and had complaints from customers for about 40% of them. They left parcels in the middle of roads and called customers to say they were there rather than delivering to their door, they damaged boxes, they sent boxes to depots nowhere near where the parcel was supposed to be going, parcels arrived opened, things were taken from boxes, they didn't even try knocking on some houses just carded them..... had loads of problems with them! And international is even worse.
I posted this about them here a few days ago: We send parcels overseas with Parcel Farce (as we call them) all the time - so many damages and no compensation to date! We sell some really expensive pieces of brass to a yoga centre in Greece and on 4 occasions they've damaged them - not minor damage either I may add, some pieces have been broken in half, a statue had branches of a tree broken off, a Ganesh had an arm missing!! We've always sent off our claim forms the very next day complete with photo's from the customer showing the damage and showing they were well packaged on our end, we've always asked the customer to keep the boxes and packaging for inspection etc etc - and PF always come back with something like there isn't sufficient damage for a claim!! When someone purchases a bowl that is supposed to sing beautifully but it arrives in two pieces how is that not sufficient damage?????? We've had to get our local rep in quite a few times to try and sort out claims for the more expensive items (about £200+) and then we only get free postage to the same customer - what use is that when we've lost the customer through PF's negligence?
On two occasions they've also lost parcels for 6 weeks then delivered to the customer!! - Not much use when goods were purchased for her shop for Christmas and they arrive in Jan, and we;ve already refunded the customer because we were told the goods would automatically be returned to us because it had been longer than 7days since dispatch! And even then PF told us they would not pay the claim. They are a bunch of spanners!!
We've used nearly every courier company in the UK and PF are by far the worst, closely followed by Night Freight :eek:0 -
I am sorry to hear that some members have been having problems with a few couriers.I'm sure not all things will be as planned all the time.
Over the years,I have worked for a few couriers in my time. It's not my line of work now,but I have been surprised in what I have witnessed. Some peoples handling of a parcel will make good television.Shocking.Any TV companies could easily name and shame on these guys.
Unless you are using a courier service that does a personal service,I mean gets put onto the vehicle and only gets taken off at the delivery point then the cross over onto other vehicles /trailers may have it's problems especially
as parcels may fall off conveyor belts, get thrown around by staff, crushed on the trailer(yours maybe at the bottom of a large volume)etc.
As for the comment about wine.I remember alot of this was being delivered
and some was damaged. Most intercepted before delivery though. You may not always get the box, but usually the company who sent it would have known what's happened to the box and will send you a replacement. They may have even been compensated.
But this may not always happen.Simply because if they have a deal with the courier it may work out cheaper to not insure the agreement.
A small percentage may get broken but on the whole it may work out cheaper in the long run for them not to insure.
A box is a box to the courier chappy that deals with 100's a day.
One good thing with Parcelforce is that they will take your parcel into the depot in the mornings, saving you time if you don't want to wait in all day.
Just take the consignment number in off your email you get from the agent.0 -

Why would they leave parcels in the middle of roads??The money, Dave...0 -
Thanks a lot for the info, I'm always on the look out for couriers who don't smash my goods!
DHL have known to do this through senditquick.com - who have shocking customer support - steer clear at all costs !!!
parcelflight.co.uk have been pretty good - although have let me down a few times on the collection date. And the prices aren't as good as the ones you have told us about
Thanks a lot0 -
I recently send a computer monitor Parcelforce with no problems. DHL wouldn't cover it against damage!0

The customer lived in the middle of nowhere, and to deliver to her the courier would have had to pull up at her gate and walk to her house (not very far from the gate) so instead of that he left them in the lane and called a while later to say he'd dropped the boxes off outside near a hedge
He also signed the delivery slip with her name so he could say he'd delivered it
She wasn't even there it was her husband who was waiting for the parcel

Forgot to mention that Parcelforce will also take up to 1.5m wide whereby the DHL agents only accept up to 1.2m0
