    The huddle, LOL

I've always found Asda are a bit funny about this policy and usually need a gentle reminder. ;) I too was once quoted the bizarre "you have to leave the store and come back" excuse, which is total rubbish, which is what I (politely) told the lady. She insisted she still couldn't give me a gift card but gave me some smiley vouchers instead (is that what they're called? ), which are the same thing really.
  • i got 1.18p overcharged on razors walked back in to store no sign of voucher for me

I think you need to ask. If they can get away with it they will. I have been overcharged numerous times recently and had to ask each time. They always say something along the lines of "I was just about to do it" which obviously they weren't.
  • I find Morrisons the worst for over-charging. My Asda isn't too bad.
  • It's a rare occurence for me to do a big shop in Asda and not get overcharged for at least 1 item. I will remember to request my £2 next time as my branch (York) stopped giving them out automatically ages ago.

  • I have asked the last twice I have been overcharged, and both times been told that it is only if I have gone home & had to come back to the store that I would get the £2.00 card - I must remember next time and carry a printout of the website with me!

We have been to Asda in Preston today, overcharged on 4 items, a total of £2,(4X 50p), went to CS and whilst I got the refund, had to ask for the gift card,(she was going to do it !), but she would only give gift card to the value of £2. told her Asda policy re the website,£2 per item overcharged, she said "it does not matter whats on the website the policy is one £2 card per transaction", she was polite but would not budge.

Came home phoned CS, she said she would confirm policy and call me back, this she did and confirmed the policy is per item, so she is going to send me the amount I should have got and "a little bit extra for your trouble".

I suggested she emailed all the store managers and send them a screen shot of the web page informing them of Asda's policy, and she said she will do something to make the staff aware of the policy.

Asda Walmart in Swindon gave me one the other week without me even asking, I didn't know they even did that at the time so was quite chuffed :)
  • We have to ask in Stevenage. And remind them that it's £2 PER ITEM overcharged.

However, there is an old lady with BIG GREY hair on CS and she is scary. She has argued the toss with my missus on loads of occasions and I have to say that Wifey comes off second best more often than not with her. It's like the £2 is coming out of her own pocket!!

If you shop in Stevo, you'll know the old girl I'm talking about.........shudder brrrrr
    Reassuringly expensive
  • We shop at Asda in Pentwyn / Cardif Gate and get overcharged quite frequently. The main CS assistant (known as "bootface" to me and my DH) tries to get out of giving the £2 gift card every time! Luckily, both DH and I know the rule and we stick to our guns. You would think it's coming out of her pay the way she acts when she has to give us a gift card. Oddly enough, the younger lads and lasses hand over the gift cards without reminder and with a smile (I think if bootface smiled, her head would explode)
