  • I'm also confused about the cost (it's not taking much these days!)

It says £15 on the site and date I'm looking at but when I looked at the FAQs it says £19 per person.

    Is the £19 for a 7 night break, so it's 2 lots of £9.50?

Ahh right thanks. It doesn't mention anywhere you have to double the £9.50 or £15.

I will probably get slated for this, and told that it's dishonest etc, but I would only book and pay for 4. You won't get a bigger caravan with more beds because you pay for your baby and the park staff won't know how many are actually staying. I wouldn't dream of not paying for kids in beds, but I don't think a little baby sharing the double bed, or sleeping in a travel cot you bring with should cost the same as an adult...

On previous holidays we have sometimes had a friend come down for the day and stay overnight, but we've never paid for more than the people actually staying the whole time.

I agree totally and would definitely only book for 4 people, if questioned, say it was an unexpected problem at home and you had to have your sisters baby for the week.

It's booking a 4 night and a 3 night stay consecutively, so it's a charge for each break adding up to 7 nights. No discount for that lol

Are we thinking that they'll be no code cracking this time round??

Well I'm up for it just in case!! But which thread are we going to use as there are two running at the same time so we need to decide which is going to be used if any. As posted in other thread if it's the letter/number combination lets hope the kind souls who let us know about the secret are willing to do the same again. Am now addicted to geting the Sun holidays!!!

Last January we knew the word in advance because they used the same set of words from a few years ago and someone noticed this so when booking opened we were straight in. It is unlikely to be like that this time round. I am in the process of updating the spreadsheet cracker programming so that we can have a chance. We can use this thread to do the cracking, I will be uploading a link to the spreadsheet in the day or so.

  • Yes I managed to book that time as well, it was lucky!! Well, I have the old spreadsheet so willing to try anything. Great decision to use this thread. Thanks. Sad but I've been looking at the car reg's at they do seem to fit!! god there are sooo many, must stop as it's distracting me when driving!!

    Hi,
I've never actually been on a sun holiday but as I applied before but was unsuccessful we have been sent a priority booking code :)

I would like to book a European holiday in the South of France and was hoping to go with another family. I've just read on the Sun FAQ site that to do this you need to send an application off in the post - have I read this correctly?

Also, I noticed that some of the sites have a tent symbol next to them, do you automatically get given a tent for these sites? I'm not totally adverse to a tent but my children are very little so I would prefer a caravan.

    Thanks,

We were assigned a tent for Tuscany, Italy. It was actually quite pleasant, and I would be happy to be assigned a tent again, but obviously in the warmer months.

I would guess that the default would be a tent, since these holidays are cheap, and therefore the most basic accommodation is allocated. Upgrade options are usually offered, where available, at a cost if you want better than the basic.

For those hoping for a European break, I would caution that they are actually not that easy to get. I have been booking Sun holidays for 6 years now, and have only managed to book 2 European ones in that time. I did not succeed in the last round of Sun holidays (I was hoping for Duinrell in Holland or the Portuguese park), so ended up booking Haven Hafan Y Mor in Wales instead. So have some back up options in mind just in case you cannot get the European park or dates you want.

We've done a few Eurocamps and the tents always look really good but I just have visions of the baby going wandering in the night!

Thanks for the warning, I'll try for what we can get and see how it goes. TBH it would be a bonus if we get to go away this year anyway so I won't be too disappointed.
