Switchover from BE to Plusnet

I'm thinking of switching to Plusnet from Be. How are people finding the service with Plus?0

I'm now successfully connected, as promised, on the correct day (today). But..
OK, here's what actually happened. It wasn't seamless but it was prompt, early in fact . Yesterday my old BB stopped at around 2pm. I thought hmm that's early, anyway tried the new router. No luck as it wasn't activated yet. So I waited 22 hours until my given time of midday today. Switched the router on, bingo!
Checked my email and had been sent an email at 2.38am to say broadband is now active. Anyway no real problem, just not exactly as expected. My speed is only 0.38Mbps upload speed 10.74Mbps dload, I was hoping for a bit faster upload but happy with Dload. What upload speeds do others get on plusnet (upto 16Mb service)?0 -
You will need to wait about ten days to get a consistent speed. You can't judge it just 12 hours after connection, the line has to stabilise at the optimum speed.
The speed will primarily depend on line length; what others get on PN on a different line is not relevant. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Actually I would like to know what UPLOAD speed to expect because nowhere does it say what the maximum is. So if everyone gets under 0.5 meg upload it would answer my question. On BE I had 1.3 Mbps upload, so 0.38 is significantly slower.
Just to be extra clear I'm talking about UPLOAD speeds only. And yes I'm fully aware of the automatic line speed testing, but I have a feeling this may not affect upload speed.
So my question still stands, I'd like to know what upload speeds people on Plusnet Unlimited BB are getting.
Edit: It seems by default they cap the upload speed with a high SN margin. You can ask to have it uncapped. The PN forum is a useful source of relevant info, and the staff appear helpful.0 -

I switched about 2 years or more, I have never really had any problems with the service until in December contractors installing new lamposts damaged the underground Openreach cable, which induced buzzing on my phone [bb worked OK]
I phoned Plusnet, they checked line, confirmed fault and Openreach come out
But it was not fixed, no fault of Plusnet
Too cut long story short OR had to dig new tench, replace a length of cable, they had to do this twice, assume bodged the first time
All of this was not down to Plusnet, but they did keep in touch
So, for me good CSWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I switched a little while back and it went smoothly. I had a fibre install so an engineer came out.
A standard swap should be easier. When your BE drops go and make a cuppa. Then plug the Plusnet router in and it should be live.
It will drop the connection and vary the speeds for a little while so expect that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
