Morning all,
How lovely to have a sunny sky and not have driving rain leak into the bedroom. I was thinking it was coming through the top of the window, hubby thinks it may be through the brickwork. We shall see.
Like many others here I need to put away the xmas tree, was going to do it yesterday but the packing boxes were in the garden shed and it was too wet to go out.
Also, need to menu plan but I am finding it difficult to get the energy in place to do this. Less thinking and more doing shall be my motto for today.
Hugs to all who are unwell.
Must get up, have breakfast and pop out to the shops for dandelion coffee and walnuts/almonds.
Take care all.

Good morning everyone.
Sunny here today although it's been raining dreadfully. Everywhere is soggy.
It's my husbands birthday today. We are off out for a quick meal tonight as dd is old enough to babysit. We will only be up the road if she needs us.
I've got some washing in the machine and I need to have a general tidy around.
We are off out after lunch.
Have a nice day all

Tru One of the farms I grew up next to grew Holly for sale. You may find it easier to grow from cuttings as the seed thing is time consuming. The berries are only outer cover, the seeds are inside. It takes over a year to germinate said seeds prior to planting etc.... So prob at least 2 to 3 years till you get even a small plant
You germinate at cold fridge temps. Hark at me coming over all Percy Thrower:rotfl:
Anyhoo am just about to make pancakes using full fat milk in an attempt to get calories in Noah:-( also persuaded him to help make a chilli with me to see if he will eat it.
It's more a control and eating disorder thing though so I think we won't see much improvement till CAMHS get further into his treatment.
Wang to give house a clean too.
Going to try some of my baby yoga program on Asher later too.
Had a lovely peaceful night with DH cuddled up in bed watching a film with cheese and biscuits lol so feeling happy happy happy today.
Only blot on horizon is the paperwork the Tax Office want next week to check out DH self employment earnings grrr0 -
Good morning all
Still dull and grey in hela land. The tree must come down today, dog needs a walk and masses of washing to do. I've become nocturnal since Christmas, going to bed so late then sleeping in. It's the only time of year I do this but will be so hard to get into a routine come Monday when I'm back to the saltmines.
Thanks for the coffee Tru, just what was needed.
Freezers are much depleted as I tend to stock them up with stuff DS and OH will eat so have various packs of y/s braising steak out to make a huge casserole to refreshed in batches also. I'd better shift my bum.
Hope you all have a productive and happy day. This year I'm going to do it . . .;)0 -
Hi everyone, newbie here!
I'm determined to have a Money Saving year, focussing on mainly oldstyle savings, and I'm sure you'll all keep me on the right path
I've just sorted out a spreadsheet to keep track of grocery spending, and joined the grocery challenge. Next is starting on today's tasks from the flylady thread, then taking the small people for a walk up to the nature reserve - leaving my purse at home and bypassing all of the shops to make this the first NSD of 2014!

Good Morning all and a bright and blowy sunny morning it is here in Kent.No washing or ironing to do though as I managed to get it all done at DDs before I came home for good yesterday.Nice to go away but even nicer to get home again.
At the moment three of my DGS are taking down the decs and tree for me,then I have promised them lunch of sausage and mash with apple pie to follow. All from my stores, as I am not going near a shop if I can help it for the next week or two.I have a large vat of soup cooking from donated veg from eldest DD, she has gone off to the outlet sales in Ashford. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid I always think that if stuff has been that heavily reduced then what you pay for it is all its really worth, plus I hate shopping anyway unless its for something essential.
I had a large bag of apples given to me on NYE from my DDs in-laws and I shall be peeling, cooking and freezing them later.
Right from the sounds coming from my sitting room it sounds like the boys have finished, so I'll get them to store the tree and dekkies away for another year and set to making their lunch.
Have a good day whatever you are doing
Cheers chums

Welcome to the new people!
Jackie, I have a pot of soup bubbling away on the stove as I write. It smells good, I hope it tastes as good?! Used left over veg of leeks, carrots and celery. Oh well, if hubby doesn't like it, I will use it as a base in a mince dish!!
Itching to get on with things but I find it hard when there is someone else in the house. Not that I wish hubby back to work, but I am looking forward to getting back into a routine on Monday.
Well, off to wash my new hand blender that was an xmas gift in preparation of blending the soup. Will also grill up some left over bacon rashers to put in the soup.

Hi
Welcome to the newbies.
We've just had HM leek and potato soup, used leeks from the garden, turkey stock & the last dribble of the cream I bought to serve with mince pies, it was delicious & even DGS ate loads with crusty bread.
I'm putting my feet up with a cuppa for 30 mins & then getting the sewing machine out to finish DGS's PacMan cushion with him.

Decs came down yesterday and are safely stashed out of the way in the loft.:T I have the WM on for some of Mr LW's jeans and t-shirts, and tbh, am getting very little else done as Ronnie is being very clingy and demanding today. I don't mind though; he's going home on Saturday morning, so I need to make the most of the remainder of his stay.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
