Put a wall across the big bedroom? You can do it without the wall, even, just with some clever magic with built in bunk bed type things that open on different sides of the room. Or curtains, or wardrobes placed strategically. Probably just needs some lateral thought.

I think you should do what you want with the house, but I do think at some point you'll regret losing a bathroom.

Edit: quick google for room share divider ideas for children got me this:

There will be loads of inspiration out there. Pinterest or Houzz would be good places to look for ideas.

Thanks for your input I have thought about future problems with only one bathroom .... A shower downstairs is doable but not needed at the moment.. All the kids in one room is leading to sleepless nights for all that's why we are keen to get them into a room each. We have no plans to move as we are close to schools and colleges. I'm not worried about resale we would most likely switch back to resale if need be.
Currently officially 2 girls in one room and son in box room... My eldest is a light sleeper I would like them all to have their own space.... Hence the need to convert a room ... I thought i was perfectly clear JustAnotherSaver?

    Ambiguous to say the least.

I would also not lose a bathroom just to provide young children with separate bedrooms.
  • Have had one quote and it also seems a shower in the downstairs loo is not a big job so delighted ! Appreciate all those with constructive comments. After seriously thinking about spending £65000 on moving to a 4 bed in the area this is by far the best option for our family we have been trying to pay off the mortgage before kids move to secondary school. I know a lot of families move for 2 -3 or 3 -4 beds when their families grow or are able to put in an attic conversion unfortunately that wasn't an option. Our little light sleeper has been assigned to the 'boys' room until further notice ..and our little boy has been evicted go the pinkest room on earth :) sincere thanks to all for your comments and thoughts.
No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!

Anyone else look at Doozergirls link and thought some of those high rise beds with no rails might look lovely but are asking for frequent trips to A&E -if not worse???? (Talk about design over practicality!)
