Help please.

I am looking into removing Virgin tv from house and going onto freesat. I reckon it will save me about £40-45 per month. I am looking for basic sets for 2 bedrooms but want to be able to record etc in lounge. I have no clue where to start? I don't know if I need a satellite dish or an aerial. Any advice would be welcomed thanks

And for Freesat you'll require a Freesat digibox or PVR, as your TV most likely only has a Freeview tuner built in.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Actually the OP will require a Freesat Digibox AND PVR since he wants reception in two rooms.
  • Thanks guys but I reckon to get the house up to the standard we need will just cost too much. Not an option. I might see if I can get any boxes etc from freecycle and go from there. Thanks for all the help

Sure, you can get Freeview or Freesat from Sky boxes for free on freegle etc, but you'll still need to invest in either an aerial or a sat dish and LNB to use them.
No way around this if you no longer use VM cable.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Never mind it was just a thought. Thanks anyway

If you save £40-£45 a month by cancelling Virgin, surely this money can be used to pay for the installation of Freesat or even Freeview?
  • Yes it could but I would need the money upfront to install the system and unfortunately I don't. I'll save for it and then get it changed over :-)
