    Evening ladies :)

I have nothing interesting to say, but I can't bear to watch this thread suffer from such serious neglect anymore! :o

Hope everyone is well - today has been Tantrum Central here, so now about to watch 'Location, Location, Location' and eat cake :D

In other news, my LO has developed an obsession with snails :o

See, I told you I had nothing interesting to say! :rotfl:

    Tantrums and snails eh?
We're still in weaning craziness, trying so hard to get a varied balance and get him to swallow (blw is all about the chewing but I feel like we're behind our peers who are already cutting down on milk and seeing better sleeping). That's the other thing, he's sleeping so badly all I think about is sleep, it's like a new baby again!
Baby's current favourite is reaching up and putting everything over his head - food, toys, muslins... He's so happy sitting in his high chair with a muslin on his head...
Watching LLL too, I live in a suburb next to Croydon so it's fascinating watching such a local search! Brixton prices are insane...

We had a 'back to sleeping (or not) like a newborn' phase here too at that age. I think it happens because there's sooooo much development going on and they get a bit overwhelmed by their new skills, but like all the other phases it does pass :o I got through it by having a nap every day when LO was sleeping. Don't stress too much about weaning, and please try to avoid comparing yourself/your LO to other people - chances are they're exaggerating, and even if they're not, babies develop at their own pace. Putting things on your head is a skill too! :D

I know what you mean about property prices - we've been stuck in London property hell since January. Were supposed to finally exchange contracts next week, but now there are more delays and our mortgage extension runs out in three weeks. Sigh! :(
  • Hello ladies, happy to see this back on the front page!

Nutella enjoy your cake! G has been a challenge today too. Not tantrums as much as just pushing his luck - eg deliberately standing on the wrapping paper I was wrapping OH's bday present with when I'd just that minute told him not too, picking up the (plastic) bottle again that I'd just told him to put down, banging his toy hoover on the present I'd just wrapped up...you get the picture. He was at play school this morning too so I only had him for the afternoon but it felt like a looong day.

Hope you get some sleep tonight Fran-o, life is 100x harder on no sleep.

Katie, the cake is long gone, but it was yummy! :) How did G get on at play school today?

Ah thanks for wise words and sleep sympathy ladies... I know it's silly to compare to the other nct mums, just letting a bit of self pity overflow! I'm a bit out of step with their timings, the way they feed their babies, and it means I'm left out a bit. However I wouldn't change the way I'm looking after baby, it's what suits us both, for now at least.

  • Hello ladies
Nice to see some action on here! Hugs for the tantrums, we have them too. At the moment A is insistent on taking a toy to nursery. Yesterday it was a happy land pirate and unfortunately it got left behind as the girls forgot to put it back in his bag. They do ask you not to take personal toys for that very reason but it was the only way I could get him out of the house on time! When he realised we had not come home with Mr Pirate it was meltdown central. It didn't help he was tired which made him all the more emotional!! Luckily we retrieved pirate this morning and I am really hoping he realises it is not a good plan to take toys to nursery now!

Both my younger 2 have a thing about snails :o I'm really glad to read that and know it's not just a family thing :rotfl:

My baby is not really a baby anymore. By the time they're running about shouting 'I farted' and giggling they're well and truly not babies :o

I've got a mountain of washing to do, and I have to be up in six hours for school so what I'm doing on here is anyone's guess!

    Hope everyone is well xx

Edit: Beautiful baby pictures everyone :D:D:D

Much better thanks, OH dropped him off and said he his lip was wobbling as he left, but I had a text from the manager a bit later to say he was fine. Hopefully today will be good too.

On the tantrum subject, G has just started pulling a daft face when he's upset/grumpy - classic corners of the mouth pulled down, bottom lip wobbling. So funny!

We're watching Topsy and Tim on the iplayer right now. Good lord I hate this show.

Hope everyone has nice, tantrum-free days!

  • Erin's tantrums are hilarious - she runs to the corner of the room, tries to fold her arms and goes "hurrrgh" in a vaguely flouncy manner. Flounces must always be done from the corner of the room apparently.
