Right, my goals for the year are:-
- get rid of anything I don't use, want, broke!!
- lose weight for the very last time
. Hopefully I'll get round to them this year!!
We're still saving for a house, but there is nothing in our price range anywhere near us and I don't want to uproot the kids as they like their school (:eek:). Anyway, we're looking into buying our HA house. I know our neighbours are scum but one lot have moved out now and we haven't had any trouble from the other lot for months (best keep quiet though incase this changes :silenced:). This way we can stay in the area, get on the property ladder but not move.
Well tomorrows plan of action is:-- take decs down and declutter them (just bought a lovely storage case for them from here)
- recycle xmas cards, saving fronts for tags next year
- vax the carpet in front room
- stick to diet for 2nd day!!!

My Charity Shop shift for today has been cancelled
- such a shame as I'm beginning to get a little bit 'stir-crazy' today ............. but in another way, 'it's good news' as it'll mean yet another NSD :j.
I'm going to put the extra free hours to good use though. I've seen some people mention doing a Store Cupboard Inventory and think I could benefit from doing this myself - it's possible that I've got some ood tins/packets that might need to be either dumped OR used up asap.
I could probably also do with having a Freezer Inventory - but that's entirely another story, and will have to wait for another day/weekend.
Just passed our 12mth Anniversary of moving into this flat - and, I've still got unopened boxes lurking in the 'Black Hole of Calcutta' - aka Spare Bedroom -

Hi everyone,
The decluttering thread has been traditionally started by charlies_mum every year.
This year we appear to have two threads so I'm going to close this one and ask you to post here
Decluttering 2014, this is the year
Good luck and happy new year to you all. x0 -
morning all, and a very happy new year to everyone.
i started posting on last years thread and made good inroads into my clutter i slightly tailed off posting over christmas as other things took over but i was still getting rid of stuff. i managed to rehome a few items by giving them to family member when they visited.
will try and get back on the wagon and aim to have the house much less cluttered by the end of the year.
thank you for the new thread.SPC~12 ot 124

Happy New Year Everyone - thanks Charliesmum for starting the new thread.
I'm in for 100 items in January.
There are also a few jobs around the house that are a priority for me to get done. I am setting myself a deadline of the end of March. I am training to be a Life Coach & need my house to be in a fit state to bring clients. I feel a lot more motivated to do them than I've ever been.

Working today. so no decluttering I am taking two boxes full of cards that I have priced, so that's something out.
I have given up two units at the centre where I sell, so that's two lots of rent saved, and it gives me another 50 days a year off for listing / decluttering
I already have two Ebay accounts, and have opened another so that I can sit at nights and list from my ipad.
Just hope I can keep this momentum going and hopefully we can all encourage each other as I am determined to do it this yearYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Re posting from the other thread just to keep me on course:
Okay well I started looking at this website http://www.theminimalists.com/21days/ and it sort of inspired me to do a bit. I cleared out two kitchen drawers and my tupperware cupboard. Decluttered:
3 packets of ice making bags (we always buy ice!)
6 unused kitchen spoons etc
6 assorted tupperware boxes and lids (broken and missing bits)
Coffee making paraphenalia that we never use (4 items)
The kitchen phone - never used and really crackly
An old sports watch of DH's - working but with no battery
A DVD box set I bought but never watched
(22 items in total)
I'm not counting any of these as today's item though, that's a spotty dress that I used to love but caught sight of a photo of myself in it and I've never been able to wear it since
So:
1. Black and cream patterned dress0 -
