I have the kindle app on my iPad and love it. There are so many books I couldn't read because of the smallish print. Now I just make the text bigger and away I go.0 -
Hi everyone, hope it's ok just to jump in and post as I would really appreciate a few decluttering friends. I just have to declutter, I can't get tidy as there is stuff everywhere and I keep having to buy things as I can't find the one I know we already have.:(
Thanks charlies_mum for the new thread. :T
It's books and papers that I need to get strict with. I was going to aim for 365 things but I wonder if that will make a difference. Well I've got to start somewhere so I'll start with 365 things or groups of things - here goes with my first lot :j
1. 3 old picture frames
2. 4 paint brushes
3. bunch of papers
4. 2 pairs of broken glasses
Thanks for all the inspiration I've had from the last thread - wish me luck and happy decluttering to you allSealed Pot Challenge #1540 -

can i join too though the thought of decluttering 100 in jan has given me panic attacks i think i have a bit of hoarders syndrome
my big problems are books/mags ,kitchenware and clothes
although a few weeks ago i was confirmed coeliac soin my thinking i could get rid of my baking books, then a little monster in my head comes up and says,,
'well my daughter may need them,' she's only 8 or 'my son may need them esp if he moves out in the next 10 Yrs'lol
does anyone else have these feelings or is it just my hoarding tendanciesSaving as much money as possible in 2014

I've finally cleared a cupboard of all alcohol - I rarely drink, so I don't know what to do with 7 bottles of champagne, and new bottles of Baileys and Bacardi that are currently sat on my worktop! Any ideas for moving these on?
How about raffle prizes or re-gifting them?Happiness is not getting what you want - it's wanting what you have

Thanks for the new thread charlies_mum, I'm in this year too please. Didn't achieve much at the back end of 2013 because of illness and other stuff but getting revved up for serious decluttering from today... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Great ideas, thank you. I did a bit of re-gifting with some this Christmas.
Will speak to my DB, he belongs to a few clubs that have regular raffles, as he is always trying to sell me tickets :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Hi gingermomma, I think you and me must be sisters
I have books that I have never read in 20 years that I keep just in case, clothes in case I loose 40lbs. I think I must have hoarding tendencies too.
Good luck with the declutteringSealed Pot Challenge #1540 -
I'm in for the 100 things in Jan, and then at least one thing a day for the rest of the year.
Last year we (family of four + dog) moved from a 3 bed terraced house to a 1 bed flat. We got rid of loads before the move but there are still boxes and boxes of things we haven't unpacked yet.
I am going to be 50 this year and am very tired of living this way. It's one of those milestones that makes you realize if you don't act now, you probably never will.
I'm going to give most things to the charity shop, just because it's an easy and fast way to get rid of stuff. If I put it aside for ebay or a boot sale, it'll be one more pile of clutter sitting around. Anything really valuable will go on ebay but for the most part, having the stuff gone right away will be worth more to me than what little I would make selling it.
Off to do the bathroom now as the tub is filling...:happylove0
