I'd like to propose a big vote of :T to charlies_mum for starting us off again with this thread.
I know that it's both inspired and motivated me during the last 12mths - even though I was m-i-a for a few months.
Today I've taken down the Christmas Tree - now all packed away again in its proper box. ALL baubles are also now stashed in plastic lidded boxes - some of them still in their original packaging for protection. 'Christmas ornaments / toys / candles etc' are back into their boxes - emptied of batteries which have gone into the 'battery graveyard' until tomorrow when I'll be going to Asda.
I've got a double-shift in the charity shop tomorrow morning, so will take the opportunity to declutter some stuff at the same time.
Best of Luck for Decluttering in 2014 to everybody ........... :j :j :j0 -

Hi all,
Can I join in please? I'm hoping to move this year but need a big sort out first! I've managed to have a big tidy up in time for the new year, with all filing up to date, hundreds of books sorted through, all DVDs in correct cases, clothes sorted into ones that I wear and ones that I, er, don't but now I need to keep on top of it and also start getting rid of the things that I don't use or wear...:)Sealed Pot Challenge (No.7): 208

Hello everyone, thanks for the new thread Charlie's-Mum.
This will be my 5th actively de-cluttering year, so I'm not wildly cluttered, but I like to keep doing it, so the levels don't build up again.
This year I'll be carrying on removing things from the loft, I have some DVD's that are crying out to be de-cluttered and there's always a few things in the wardrobe that need looking at.
Last year I targeted myself for 365 things (or batches of things) to be decluttered, and achieved 379.
This year I'll go for 365 again, but I'll be pleased if I hit 300
I've made a start today
1 Can of de-icer
2 2 pair old slippers
3 old socks
4 Old jumper
5 old shirt
6 old salt and pepper mills
7 out of date spices
8 old mop
9 old boxes
10 old port and rum bottles
11 2013 calendars
So I'm up and running!
Good luck everyone

I'd like to join too please. Got a lot of areas I need to sort out. Cleared one corner of the main bedroom (I know its a small start), and I have two items listed on ebay.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I got a bit confused as there are two threads.:p
I just went through my wardrobe and threw out another cat toy. It was a plastic tunnel type thing that they never used. I will put it in the recycling just in case someone might use it when they sort through it.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Okay well I started looking at this website http://www.theminimalists.com/21days/ and it sort of inspired me to do a bit. I cleared out two kitchen drawers and my tupperware cupboard. Decluttered:
3 packets of ice making bags (we always buy ice!)
6 unused kitchen spoons etc
6 assorted tupperware boxes and lids (broken and missing bits)
Coffee making paraphenalia that we never use (4 items)
The kitchen phone - never used and really crackly
An old sports watch of DH's - working but with no battery
A DVD box set I bought but never watched
(22 items in total)
I'm not counting any of these as today's item though, that's a spotty dress that I used to love but caught sight of a photo of myself in it and I've never been able to wear it since
So:

Please may I join in too? The 2013 thread really motivated me and I'd like to thank everyone who con tributed as it helped me so much. The downstairs of the house remains decluttered and I am determined to keep it that way. My two big challenges are making a spare room which someone could actually stay in (which will be challenge enough in itself) but also to make a start on the attic which was my DS's lair while he lived at home. There are enough books to start my own library, various dead and dissected computers, cabling, and basically carp everywhere. He said himeself it's a tip and that he will come home (he lives 5/6 hours away) at some point this year as he's realised how much money he could raise by flogging some of it. I guess if I make this a public announcement it will help me keep to the challenge.
Currently got 5 bags of recycling waiting to go out and have put all festive clutter away which is a record for me.
Thanks again to all - may 2014 be a good one for allThis year I'm going to do it . . .;)0
