Well been out up London again
was fun. House is still a mess, but am away for the weekend so when I come back on Monday it will be operation house clean, which I shall plan whilst I am away - I know how to have a holiday
Tragically I will find planning the house clean quite enjoyable, actually doing it might be a different story. I am quite excited about it all tho.
I have a party the following weekend and am off again the next week for another party.
The Summer has been pretty good really. Still debating about the Guinea pigs. in the garden ? in the shed? in the house?
I would really like them to be outside more.
I saw I LOVELY hutch for 162 pounds yesterday.
best go, got to get to Sainsbury's and plan dinner

Quick before I leave
I am not yet packed so got very little time......me? leaving stuff till the last minute? don't know what you mean!
Put a bid in on a hutch! It is a "seconds" and maybe damaged but since I would have to paint/modify anyway I took a chance. The auction has ten hours left.....I am happy if I win and happy if I don't.
It would be great for the pigs during the summer months and maybe even up to October depending on the weather. In the dead of Winter I would always bring them in.
Moneywise am managing which is code for going to use the credit card whilst away! however when I come back I will probably dip into savings to straighten things out - remember my August savings? about time I used them!
Best go pack. I always get so nervous just before I go away!
have a good weekend folks

Right.
My words of the day are.
Get someone in for a one off clean.
They dont care what your house is like.
Then take it from there.
I agree with BeanieI am a self-employed cleaner and often do 1 off cleans for people. I don't care what a clients house looks like, my job is to clean it.
Go for itOh, and have a nice weekend away!

Have a fab weekend away Buffy! If you can afford a cleaner then get one, great idea.
You will laugh at this - I was stopped in town today by a chugger - she asked if I was a teacher, I said no, she said you look like one! Still not sure whether this is good or badI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
SO.
A lot has happened since I was last here.
1. Robin Williams one of my absolute heroes has died. I was so gutted. am so gutted.
2. I spent the weekend with two friends. One of whom is very well off. And by my assessment not very happy. She told me following your dreams was a waste of time and kids should get used to the idea of working to pay the bills and having a two week holiday. right ok then. cheers for that. (of course she is following a lot of her dreams but she is one of the lucky ones)
3. Another friend lost a great deal this year and has come through it remarkably well. Skint. but with a new set of priorities.
4. Lots of death and near misses in the news and on FB.
5. Also the death of Lauren Bacall, fair play she was 89. but what a great woman and great life. Made me ponder on endings.
6. Depression and how insidious is it. creeping up and making you feel utterly dreadful.
7. Friends and how important they are, I have had some lovely days this holiday.
8. that sadly my family isn't ever going to be an actual family. Much weirdness has occurred and I much prefer my friends. Makes me very sad for my Mum. And I MUST learn to keep my mouth shut!! for her sake.
At the end of all this I have come to this some what hackneyed conclusion
Life is short.
Keep it simple.
have to feed the dogs and make tea. will be back later with money news (it will be a short report as there isn't much!!)Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
A lot of thoughts there Buffster.
Sad re Robin Williams, i sit and ponder what went through his mind and am saddened that he made this decision and was alone at the end. He gave so much joy to everyone and peace and comfort-in some respects i do wish some of it could have been given to him.
I think it is good to get it out there and thoroughly agree that friends are better than family. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
I was going to say just shows money doesn't buy happiness but sounds like he was having problems on that front. I can't begin to imagine what he was thinking - what can be worse than being dead! Such a waste.
They say you can choose your friends but not your family by the way. Very true.
Hope you are ok tonight buffster.xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I'm totally with you on the family friends thing. I've shared stuff here and been supported in ways I couldn't even envisage doing with my family. I still say this forum changed my life. The friends I have made here have just been amazing. It is a very special corner of the internet.
Money wise I am !!!!ed. Basically. Wages ALL gone. had Seven pounds in my bank account!
Center parcs is VERY expensive. Also all the going out and seeing friends.........aint cheap!
However in terms of spending money I did put aside 300 pounds......which is now in my current account. (I have 1500 in case of absolute emergencies.)
I am going to attempt to do everything as cheaply as possible tho! Got to make it last, this months pay is going to be very low I think so that 300 has to last as long as possible. May have to dip into that emergency savings.
need to pay for
1. injections for the dogs
2. new hutch (will go on CC for now) very needed.
3. various nights out
4. food!
have just paid 83 pounds to Barclays (now 3700) and 20 quid to Tescos (now 316 - but soon to go up, need petrol and the hutch)
Edited to add - forgot also paid 67.15 to my amazon card (!) had to borrow it from my pet savings and the virtual sealed pot account. Still, good job I have these savings.
so now have 200 pounds!!
I knew August would be expensive.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
just a quick drive by posting, funny day, ended with a nice meal and drinks with a mate. mind you cost 40 quid.
am tired but home early. tomorrow begins the last week of my holiday.
Still not been a bad summer. Although I hate the heat I do not want to be cold. Nice and warm please.
Bah.
