  • I am officially 5 weeks today :D

I thought i was 4 + 6 but had calculated the first day of my last period wrong. Only a day out but it still puts me in that next week and makes the first appointment approach quicker.

HappyLassie - I ended up getting some lactulose from the pharmacy (they didn't ask any questions, but I've heard of them refusing to sell if you say you're pregnant even though the midwife recommended it) it's a shot of sugar syrup so I found it easier to stomach than the sachets that I usually take. I also get terrible cramps when I'm bunged up, so easy to confuse with period style cramps which worried me too.
  • thank you for that Hop Hop.
things seem to be moving now.
my body seems to be changing its mind from having the runs to nothing at all.
however, my poor OH and kittens have been getting gassed out over the last few days.
so glamorous, i keep telling OH it's only going to get worse!

Hello ladies! So after having only had my coil out in July we've found ourselves 4 ish weeks pregnant!! I think it happened on our one year anniversary as well! How romantic and quick is that?! I thought at just turned 37 that me and my hubby (who is 40) would be in for a battle. :D

We only found out Monday as I thought I felt different for a few weeks. I thought it would be a laugh to buy a pound shop test, so when the lines appeared on that I thought let's buy a more expensive one to be sure. :p

I feel so blessed but absolutely terrified that things will go wrong but I must change those thoughts I guess.

Hope to chat to you all soon xx

  • Hi Loubie Lou. Welcome to the thread! That’s fabulous and you’re right really romantic!

Have you worked out a rough due date? Our little one is due 7th May but obviously this could change when we have a scan

Ours is due around 12th May. I'm about 5 weeks actually. It's not sunk in yet. I really have to reign in telling people too. Only my family, close friends and hubby of course know. So that's it.

Congrats to you too! Need to speak to midwife tomorrow x

  • Loubie congratulations :) I got told to wait til between weeks 8 and 10 to get in contact. It feels like a long while but I’ll finally get in contact with them next Monday as I’ll be just over 8 weeks. If you ring your doctors they’ll give you an idea of when to register with them as I think it can vary

  • I have to ring mine when I’m 6 weeks and they’ll make an appointment for 8 weeks

I don't actually know where to start, I am 7 weeks pregnant. To get this far I lost nearly 6 stone to be suitable for IVF. I have always wanted a child and was 40 in August, I knew I was running out of time. I went through the IVF procedure in July/ August. I only put one egg back in ( was offered 2 but did not want a multiple pregnancy) and it took. Even though 3 pregnancy tests came positive I did not really believe it. I had a scan last Thursday and this confirmed it. I am still so scared, I have wanted this for so long and to get pregnant after one round of IVF 4 days before my 40th birthday is a miracle. So why can't I relax. I am going for a nift test due to my age to make sure everything is right but don't think I am going to relax till I get to 12 weeks. I have now seen a midwife and being booked. Still very lost. Am I the only one to feel like this ?
