I'm sorry to hear the scan didn't go as expected babyb but good news on the heartbeat and lovely midwife - hope the cysts are nothing to worry about.

My heartburn is horrendous now and headaches and sickness are worse too. It was my son's 3rd birthday yesterday and it was the worst I've felt so far. I've read it can peak in week 9 and I'm 8 weeks today. Our friends from Canada are coming for a week from week 9, so hoping I've peaked early so I can enjoy their visit. Got booking in tomorrow - good luck for your's too lulu.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

How did your booking in go lulu? Hope it has gone/goes well.

Just had my booking in appointment and the midwife attempted to take my blood twice from my right arm, then once from my left arm, before giving up and giving me the paperwork to take to the path lab at the hospital myself. My right arm is so sore that I'm sure it's going to bruise, so will have to wait a while to go and get them done again. It's the first time anyone has failed to get blood from me.

  • Hi all,
Just checking in after the weekend. Hope all is well with everyone and the booking in appointments have gone well.

I had a lovely relaxing weekend with my sister in law at the spa, which was fabulous (even if I couldn't have a proper, deep tissue massage!)

I'm just feeling constantly exhausted and sick at the moment, which means it's getting increasingly harder to hide at work. My husband thinks it might be twins () because I'm so much sicker this time than last. I'm thinking its a combination of a toddler and this one being a girl.

    Hope everyone is well.

This pregnancy has been completely different for me lolly - my midwife today reckoned that the exhaustion is due to us having toddlers to look after too - when I was pregnant with DS1, I was able to nap during the daytime and I don't remember the night sleep being as disturbed as it has been this time. I've been having some very vivid and strange dreams! I'm wondering too if this one will be a girl, but I have a feeling it will be another boy. The spa sounds lovely! Lucky you!

Just looked at my notes and she's put my EDD as 13/5/16 - 5 days later than I've calculated on the NHS website - not sure how she's worked that one out!!

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
Booking in went great :) The only issue she has is with my BMI (37) but said I can get that down to below 35 on Slimming World so I might not need the GTT. Bloods were fine but it took ages to get all 4! EDD is now 10th May but of course that will change.

Me too! I've definitely been having vivid dreams that are odd! And have been waking in the middle of the night for the loo already! Maybe our bodies just know what to expect!

Will you find out if it's a boy or girl? We are intending to - hubby is practical like that and wants to know for planning purposes. I actually think it might be a girl this time, (and I was right about a boy last time). But given it's 50/50 - who knows!

  • Glad the booking in went ok sexymouse & lulu. Sorry to hear about the bloods sexymouse, hopefully you can get them done soon.

I have also been waking in the night, usually about 3/4am, I don't remember waking early in last pregnancy until last trimester.

My BMI was 32 and was told I will probably need the extra tests as my BMI was over 30 :(

I'm not sure if I will find out what we're having yet, kept it as a surprise last time which we liked.

Yes we want to find out the gender this time (we did with Ds as I'm a control freak and wanted to plan and prepare for him). I've got to have the GTT too as my Mum has type 2 diabetes. I've also opted for the downs syndrome and Edwards syndrome testing too. I don't remember the early waking until the last trimester either but I was such a heavy sleeper before and since having Ds I wake with the tiniest noise.

lemon tree how many weeks are you now? My real symptoms took off in about week 6.

  • I never really got any real symptoms either Lemon Tree apart from a few cramps at the beginning which all disappeared, the last week I have had a struggle with brushing my teeth as it makes me gag but I don't know if thats to do with the prenancy or my cold. I can't wait for the scan, you're right it is a long wait.
