Hi all I would like to join you please! Currently 8+5 and feeling sooo poopy its shocking. Between the nausea and runs not great. Has anyone else been recomended to take vit d as well as folic acid? My mw said to get a multi vit with both of them in it, but since I have been taking it, have had the runs and upset churning tummy with a rotton bum (sorry tmi) so just back to the folic acid on its own and feeling slightly less ill belly wise0

Hi Sedment
Sorry to hear your feeling yucky, I think quite a few of us are. There's vit d in ther vits I take,im not sure if its contrabuting to the yucky feeling or not?0 -
** delurking **
I was taking separate Vitamin D and Folic Acid before TTC and falling pregnant so was happy to continue taking them. I haven't had any issues taking the ones the midwife gave me either however my consultant gave me combined Calcium and Vitamin D tablets and taking them caused me to throw up for the first time during pregnancy so I stopped taking them and just went back to the multi vitamins.
If you're struggling to take them in the one tablet form it might be best to get them separately and take them at different times of the day ie Vitamin D in the morning and Folic Acid at night.

Hi all.
Nice to see a bit more activity on the thread! I'm wondering about my scan date now - there is one day that would be ideal when I'm about 12 and a half weeks so hoping they can fit me in then otherwise I'll have to postpone it - hubby and I both have a lot of work commitments in August it would seem!!
I've had random waves of nausea every day for about the past 2 weeks - its pretty horrible to be honest but I'm sure its quite mild compared to how it could be! I thought I was going to throw up in the office yesterday but the feeling went away as quickly as it came! The worse symtom is most definately the trapped wind - my tummy gets so swollen its painful every evening and I look about 5 months gone by the time I go to bed and then tummy is flat again the next morning! Weird. I'm thinking people in my work work might guess sooner than my scan but I'm doing my best to keep it a sceret, we've not told a soul!
Good luck with your next scan PM - really hope the heartbeat is there next time! We've been debating an early scan to ensure everything is ok before we tell people but it looks like the going rate is about £70! Would rather spend the money on goodies for the baby, lol0 -
Nicky lol I never have a flat tummy, thanks pcos. Seriously trapped wind is no fun. My next scan will be the 2nd of the week but still not heard from mw/hosp.0

I know its early days but has anyone bought or thought about maternity bras? not nursing ones just maternity bras. Im finding my usual bras really unfomfortable.Iv'e had 2 breast reductions over the years which I think is making me more uncomfortable.0

PM. I bought mat bras really early on as my boobs seemed to explode in size and the wires were really hurting. I didn't get specific mat bras- just went for the non-wired ones. I bought two freya soft cup plunge bras. They've kept boobs where they're supposed to be, are very comfy and if you explain when having fitting that you're pregnant they should size you so that the bras will last the pregnancy. They were £25 each but worth every penny! My bras have lasted me from 8 weeks to now and i think they may go the distance as I'm still on the tightest back setting. I tried a few high street mat bras (m&s, h&m etc.) but they made my boobs look like spaniels ears (i'm quite busty...)
One thing to bear in mind is that your back size will increase as the baby gets bigger and pushes everything up into your rib cage so look for bras that are either sized for support now but can also grow into or for ones that have more than 3 tightening settings.
Nicky- I had horrendous trapped wind feelings throughout first 12 weeks- had to buy pants a size up to 'grow' into during the day. I caved and started taking wind relief tablets- always check with your doctor first though. It was something I felt comfortable taking.0 -
Tcod I'm dreading my boobs getting bigger.im really finding the scars are getting sore so think as long as thy can find the hb I will get some new bras.im so paranoid the baby won't be viable I don't want to get things and things not work out.come on Friday for the next scan.0

Sorry for the moan ladies feel free to ignore
I'm pretty upset with my gp yet again. I went over a week ago now to be refered to mw care after waiting over 10 days to see my gp.well I've not heard anything from mw or hosptial etc so called my gp. The sectuary checked my notes and said you've been refered to gastroenterology services as you've got an upset stomach, pretty confused I said no I'm pg not got an upset stomach she said well that's where you have been refered as that's whats wrong with you, after much debate backwards and forwards she said oh I beg your pardon I'm looking at different patients notesnow we had established I needed mw services I asked again where my referral was,she checked and despite it being filled out by the dr it hadn't even been sent yet
she couldn't tell me why only that she will send it.she said its likely to take a few weeks till you hear anything
