I can just imagine your panic, thinking "oh no I'm going to have declare this lot!" :rotfl:

I LOVE Nivea Happy Time shower cream, it is orange blossom so is not too overpowering but so refreshing for the morning.

They were all new items for me but I did leave the store muttering to myself 'this is why I have a stash': it was a bit annoying as I could have picked up the eyebrow pencil I use if I'd have known, but heyho.

whilst having a break I was having a google on 'being addicted to cosmetics'. Not that I am suggesting you ladies are, but I think I am, which is worrying! I found this article and found it quite interesting, and also it made me feel better to think I'm not the only one!

    http://jezebel.com/5595902/when-being-a-product-junkie-becomes-a-problem

as long as I can access the sink etc in my bathroom it's ok...but there again I do store most things in my room! xxx

I have been struggling recently, my anxiety was through the roof and I wasn't sleeping before christmas. All the household chores had slipped and the place was a mess. It was only after I spent a solid day sorting out, tidying and decluttering that I realised how much it was the mess affecting me. My mother has been a hoarder and very dysfunctional. Whilst I no longer have any contact with her (for this and other reasons), the idea that I was becoming my mother had slipped into my head.

This is one of the reasons why I want to use up toiletries, look after myself and sort out my debt. I also know now that this is going to take time and there aren't quick fixes: another lesson I unfortunately had to learn the hard way.
I'm actually embarrassed by it! :o

Nothing to be embarrassed about! Enjoy using your products and don't repurchase the items you don't love!

ok so was a tad bad today!bought Molton Brown hand wash and cream set in JL sale(it is my fav scent orange and bergamot so will be used)plus a nails inc repair kit for DH as he has problem nails says its worth £42 costs £25 but was half price so thought it a bargain and I will get to keep the shiny top coat out of it.
apart from that only bought some popsocks and the bottoms of a pair of pjs from East for £5....they only had bottoms and were a lot cheaper than the full price,am planning to take on holiday as beach trousers as cotton with a blue and green print and very light so ideal for my carry on!!!(mean the case on the plane)holiday with an old school friend in April

My first two ins for January:

    1. Baylis and Harding Black Orchid bubble bath 300ml
    2. Baylis and Harding Black Orchid body lotion 300ml (I think)

My PP list for this month:

    1. Lush Angels Delight soap - definitely don't need to buy any more soap!
    2. Lush Brightside bubble bar - this is nearly a year old, from Easter, and I think it should probably get used up soon!
    3. Nicky Clarke Smooth It Over Hair Serum 75ml - this is so ancient, and I have new, exciting hair smoothing things to move on to!
    4. The Body Shop Guava lip balm - no need to buy lip balm for a long while.
    5. NSpa Passionfruit body butter 200ml - moisturiser stash much better than before, but still too big for one little me!
    6. Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing toner 250ml - the alcohol in this is a little drying - I'm looking forward to moving on to their rosewater toner.
    7. Lush Turkish Delight shower smoothie 45ml - this smells gorgeous, but Lush pots in the shower are just inconvenient!
    8. Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner 45ml - this is so lovely, but I get through more moisturiser when not using it!
    9. Lush Rose Jam shower gel 100ml - love this, but have a huge bottle of it.
    10. NSpa Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk Wash Grains 75ml - interesting concept (dry exfoliating grains, mix with your own water/gel), but quite a small tub, so should get through this quickly.

I'll be doing this as a proper Project Pan - no buying anything in these categories until these products are all finished up!
No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January!

    Hi everyone,

This will be my first time posting on this thread but to be honest I have been lurking around for quite some time now. You seem to be a lovely bunch of ladies and I hope to fit in nicely seeing as I seem to have developed an addiction to all things beauty related recently.

It's only been this past year or so that it's gotten out of hand. I am particularly naughty when I see an offer for a free gift with purchase and have bought clinique bonus time and estee lauder GWP more times than I care to remember! Does anyone else seem to have this problem? I have make up bags coming out of my backside :rotfl:

I too have stuff in the bathroom cupboards, under my dressing table, in the kitchen cupboard by the sink and will be running out of space soon! Where do you all keep your stash? My husband is starting to comment saying things like "are you using all this stuff?"......oops!

So that's it for now. I really should look through everything that I have and list them on here

I think that I buy these things to make myself feel better. I have three boys that are all teens now and so I think I've been feeling a little lost and am trying to cheer myself up :(

Hugs to those that need them, pleased that you are getting your girlie holiday again Rosemary, those jammie trousers sound great.

On the subject of keeping toiletries at hand, I think that I may have gone a little OTT on this LOL
Next to my chair is the smallest table from the nest of tables approx. 9" x 15", currently residing on it are the following:-
Large mug of tea, part glass Lilt, LD large crystal file, LD large buffer, Aloe Vera lip salve, tube Voltarol Pain-eze, pot Arnica Gel, tooth picks, cuticle cream (might scrape 1 application from it), Gatineau Futur Plus mask, pot containing Elemis Frangipani oil now set as balm, Biostick light stick to treat pesky cold sore, 1 pencil, 2 coasters and mobile internet dongle. Bedside cabinet is in similar state. First job after drinking tea is a long overdue tidy up me thinks!!

Hello again everyone! I've been lurking for the past few months, and although I have been recording my ins/outs, I haven't been posting as I feel a bit ashamed (my buying 'problem' is back with abundance! I've decided that today I will record everything and I'm thinking of taking a photo so I can feel empowered to do something!

Hope you are all well and having a lovely new years! x

The photo is a brilliant idea - not sure I could fit all my stash in on one photo though!

Definitely going to list everything though - haven't done that for ages and the stash is a little bit more organised now so should make it a bit easier.

    Evening everyone!

I have some declarations, I'm not counting these INs as INs as they were ordered last year (feels so funny saying that!) and so were technically INs then! So I'm just adding them to the list quietly so they don't disturb a month of what is hopefully only OUTs! :D Very happy paying £47 for this lot, the Richmond Terrace one was essentially free as the £5 was for VIP membership with a free nail polish ;)

A question about mousse - how long should you keep an open can? I don't use it much and have an open can from 2008 :o. It still smells fine and looks fine but I'm terrible with expiry dates on cosmetics, if it looks ok and doesn't bring me out in hives I carry on using things far beyond the suggested date.

I think you can tell easily with hair products, they just won't do what they used to, if it's still working as it should then fine!

I'm beginning to think my Aussie serum has gone off, the other day it made my hair all lank, but it could be a bad hair day. It's been open 6 months longer than the jar thing states, so I think it may be time to chuck it.... :o
