I've had several 'ins' this week but they were all either ordered or bought in December so have a clean slate for 2014!

The postman bought me my Marc Jacobs Daisy gift set that I got half price in the sales today. I also got a Dot gift set reduced by a third in the Boots sale (as you can tell, I like Marc Jacobs fragrances!) Perfume isn't really one of my weak points, partly because it's so expensive, but the gift sets are such good value when compared to buying the products individually, especially when they're marked down. When I went to pick up my parcel from Boots I bought Ted Baker Butterfly Body Spray in 2 sizes. I had got bored with the shower gel and put it into the hand wash bottle but then I fell in love with it all over again and have decanted it back into the shower gel bottle! I've now put the Ted Baker bubble bath in the handwash bottle instead - it's a different fragrance, not sure what it's called, but hopefully the same thing won't happen and I will actually use it as handwash!

I haven't bought handwash for ages, as I am trying to use unloved shower gels or bubble baths instead. I am definitely going to do my best to get through January with no ins at all. I don't think anything is going to be used up any time soon though, but may have to throw some make up out. It's been hanging around forever and I don't wear it very often. I've also got loads of nail polishes and I need to throw them out or give them away. I hardly ever paint my nails and when I do I always make a mess of it and then it chips the next day anyway. I've started getting them done professionally, usually with shellac, so the nail varnishes I have are pretty much redundant. I might see if my son's girlfriend would like any of them - although I'm sure he's worried in case my 'habit' is catching!

    Hi ladies, welcome newbies.

I am still currently constructing a spreadsheet to track my stock. I feel like I have my own shop with how much stuff I have. I am starting again with numbers as I have not counted IN's or OUTs in the last week, I have had I think about 8 INs (6 free and 2 bought) and several outs but these have not been counted. I am starting 2014 a fresh and once sorted will change my signature. I will not count make up, nail varnish or toothpaste as this is not a problem area for me and it gets my numbers messed up as I don't list those items and I want things to tally.

I have decided to fine myself for any purchases made that I don't need, the fine will be £5 for each item. I can only buy things I need such as deodrant, toothpaste and eventually shampoo and conditioner as I will actually run out without being fined. I do plan to use the multipurpose products as shampoo if my scalp is alright with it. I do have a few orders that I am waiting for (3 perfumes) but I won't "fine myself for that as they were ordered a while ago but as they are handmade it takes a while to get them.

Will post when I have completed my spreadsheet.

Forgot to say ValM, I loved Emma's blog, she writes so well, but you didn't need me to tell you that!
I hope she continues to develop that gift.

Thank you so much And. Emma did comment the other day that her viewings spiked at 173 whereas the most she's ever had before was about 20ish! She thought the blog had crashed, bless her. So thanks to everyone who had a look.

  • Hi everyone and Happy New Year!

Just posting first and then going back to the start of the thread to read all those lovely stash lists we start the year with! I am back in again (for all 2014 lets face it :o), hello to all our regulars and a big hello to all newbies and returnees :hello:

I have been doing this challenge for 3 whole years now and still have a long way to go! My totals for 2013 were 87 UU, 58 TA/GA and a teeny 32 Ins which means 113 items less in my stash at the start of 2014 :j

My resolution for this year is to carry on with the UU at a steady rate but to be more ruthless with throwing away old things that I just won't ever use.

I have spent a happy couple of hours this afternoon going through my stash and should hopefully be able to post an up to date stash list soon.
No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
    35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins

So, it's a long journey. Here to Toronto, then on to Paris, then Malaga (you can see what I mean about duty frees!). Don't laugh we are going to Torremolinos but anywhere on earth is better than northern Alberta in the winter (unless you like an average temp of -18C).

The Costa Del Sol is a lovely part of Spain. We have stayed at Mijas Costa just down the coast from Torremolinos a few times. If you're looking for lovely places to visit I'd recommend Mijas itself which is up in the hills. I think you can get a bus from Torremolinos to Fuengerola and then back out to Mijas. Mijas Costa itself is very quiet if you fancy visiting somewhere a bit more laid back. If you feel like travelling further Marbella and Gribralter down the bottom of the coast are lovely as well. We have visited Torremolinos itself before now (to go to Aqualand) and it is also a lovely place.

I promise you that in time that shower gel bottle will be sliced open so that you can get even more product out and use it for more than one more shower! :rotfl:

I have also hit pan on my Nars Deep Throat blush and my Wet n Wild Brulee shadow this morning so that's more makeup products that could be finished soon!

I got a palette of NARS blushers for Christmas and AM IN LOVE with them. Don't have Deep Throat - my set contains Orgaasm, Gilda, Albatross and Outlaw. I am loving Outlaw the most. They are so well pigmented. The colour doesn't look flat or muddy. Am converted.

It's all too stressful, I'm off for a lie down!

Why not go have a lie down in the bath?? :rotfl:
    Lemme see!! :D

    This made me laugh. :rotfl:

They truly are amazing, you need such a tiny amount to get an amazing colour payoff that never seems to fade or go patchy (for me at least!)

I'm working on the stash list ladies, there's so much still at my parents house too...

I may as well go sit in the shower for a long time… I've just worked out I now have enough shower and bath gel to last more than 2 years
