Stepping into 2014- walking in My Shoes with Mooloo

I am tired. I dug out and wrapped the gifts that I had. While wrapping I used sticky pads as I didn't have any Sellotape. I also cannot find one tree ornament that I had personalised for Biggest of Mooloo, and realised that I hadn't bought anything for the twins or DS's GF!
Oops
There must be some subliminal reason behind that lot then!
I will have to put on my thinking cap today while I am at work and then fit shopping in tomorrow.
I have lots of little things for DGD to unwrap, but nothing major this year. She got a bike for her birthday a few months ago.
Yesterday she went with a friend to see Santa. ( she told me she asked Santa for an Xbox!!!) well alas that will not be on the pile. Way way beyond my meagre earnings.
Well what earnings? I haven't had any since July. Although I do hope to rectify that in the new year sooner rather then later.
Meanwhile we are coping.
The bills are paid, the cupboards are full of stuff from approved foods and the freezer is not too bad from my last trip to Aldi.
I don't have any major bills due at the moment, and I am chipping away at the credit card bills that had been buffering things, I.e. The bills for DS's bike, insurance and repairs, and my car etc when they were all at once.
I am alas going into 2015 with credit card debts. But I will be paying them off as soon as I can, and snowballing them.
Right enough chat, it's time to get DGD up and ready for her holiday club, and my day at work.
Onwards and upwards. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Is DS not going to pay that part of your credit card bill? I put quite a few things on my credit card for my DD but on the understand that she will pay it back, either before my re-payment is due or as a monthly payment. I chose to do this with her car insurance because it's so expensive for young people and I wasn't going to let up pay nearly 30% interest to an insurance company for a monthly payment facility.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Has DS actually asked if they can stay or have you or he simply assumed that is what will happen ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I really feel for DGD. It is such a confusing time for her. She must have many questions running around her head. On a side note, GPs often have counselling available for children. Schools also usually have some provision for talking therapy. It may really benefit her to talk about what is happening within her family. Consistancy is key! Keeping her life on the level, so she knows what to expect and when. I hope you both have a lovely Christmas. xxxx0

This is the same DS who has no deposit to rent a new flat - I doubt Mooloo is going to hold her breath. She paid their last deposit (in an unsuitable area with poor public transport) and if they keep the flat the way they left her house odds are they won't get the full deposit back anyway. Sorry Mooloo but DS exasperates me.
Does the council have any kind of deposit assistance scheme ? Most do to help people who can't afford private rent deposits.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

The council have just started a scheme.
It was discussed as a last resort that they stop if the council don't help by the get out date.
I have informed the school and the after school staff about DGDs situation. We will all just keep our eyes on her etc.
DS and his GF will start to repay me when they are settled. ( no I won't hold my breathe). He has been told that he has to pay at least £1,000 back that was DGD's savings. Although I have replaced £600 of it myself so far, as no way is her future going to be ruined by my lending him what I had put away for her.
Today I was on my own in the shop, but it was a steady plod of people. I had a couple or so of new jobs in. They need to be ready by Tuesday next week. So I have enough work for the two days that I go in.
I took £140 today. Not bad.
We went to exchange presents with my friend in Towcester. Sat chatting to her Mum etc for a while. Her father is very poorly, and so are her brothers. They all have Huntingdon's- so tragic. Dad is no longer able to drink/eat. The boys are on walking frames etc now. Her younger brother is going to be 30 next year. He invited us to his party, but my friend is worried that he may not be able to eat or drink by then.
Now that family have worries. My life is easy compared.
My sister and partner came over to visit briefly, bringing me some wine from France. So it's going to be a nice few chilled glasses of wine over the festive period.
I bought a very nice Purse from the shop next to me to give to one of the twins. Still need something for the other one though.
Tomorrow it's a bit of shopping then! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have found out that Mr T has put in planning application for a Dry Cleaners and Key cutter, cobbler etc in their store.
That is not good.
We have a family run Dry Cleaners, we have a young man with his own Independant Key cutting, and cobblers etc.
I do the alterations and work in partnership with our dry cleaners.
We could all be at risk of loosing trade if Mr T get their way.
I hope as a town we can stop them!
I need to get on board the No Campaign. I have objected on the council website.
Now I need to spread the word as we only have until 24th to object! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
It was a late night for me last night, faffing around on the internet, watching TV and generally being busy doing not a lot.
I'm still sat in bed! DGD was up and down a lot, so is still asleep at the moment. ( well I think she is as I can't hear anything).
It's time to plan our next few days, get some gaps in the presents filled, check the food levels, and generally catch up. Oh spoke too soon I can hear my little monkey now.
I forgot to bring up my things for making tea, so no more sitting here and thinking about what to do. Time to get on and do it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

How are you defining the "get out date" ?
I hope you are aware that the council will regard them as having made themselves intentionally homeless if they leave on the last day of the rental agreement. They need to sit tight until the LL gets an eviction order. At that point the council will start to take an interest.
It sounds like they are just sitting back and waiting for someone to sort them out TBH.
Get them to speak to Shelter to make sure they don't mess up their chances of either social housing or help from the council in other ways by leaving before they legally have to. Shelter will also be able to assist them with applying effectively for the deposit scheme.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Well the day has been a strange one, sort of a plodder. Not rushing around as usual.
I sorted all DGDs clothes out, cleared out the stuff that's too small. Put the summer stuff that will fit away in the wardrobe in the workroom. The uniforms too.
The laundry is all washed, and the bathroom is now the drying room.
I've been sorting out my clothes for the next few days, and we went down the town and bought the last few presents etc locally.
I have bought myself a new dress. A long sleeved jersey dress with owls on them. At £25 that's the most expensive dress I have bought for myself in a while.
I also popped to the shop and went through my own stock and came home with an evening top and a winter dress. So those didn't cost me directly.
A great way to shop!
We stopped off at the park on the way back.
So DGD could let off steam.
I'm having a cup of tea before I cook tea, and it's an evening at home.
I rang DS and told him about shelter, and about staying put. Hopefully he will act. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
