It may well be the buyer is trying it on but going on the evidence why should Ebay believe the seller?

Buyer to Ebay: I haven't received item I paid for, please help.
Ebay to seller: Buyer says he hasn't received item can you help?
Seller to Ebay: I sent the item, buyer is a liar.
Ebay to Seller: No problem, just prove it was received and we'll say no more about it.
Seller to Ebay: Sorry, don't have any proof but buyer must be lying because I think he is. Surely you believe me I've sold loads of stuff and after all, it's £37 of tickets so you've earnt almost £5 from me.

Ebay to Seller: Of course, no problem sir, we'll sort it out now.

Ebay to Buyer: Sorry pal, seller says he sent it and we think he's a decent bloke and you're a lying piece of scum so do one for your money.

Is that the scenario some people are calling for on this thread or is there another way Ebay should favour the buyer over the seller?
