OK you will have to wait until you have full online access before opening the second and third. Took about a week as I recall.

This gives the URL to use once logged in to enable you to apply for additional accounts

What happens if you use this link and already have 3 accounts? Is it declined automatically or do staff have to decline it?

I wonder if it could slip through the net and get me a fourth :)

    I haven't tried it as I don't wan't to rock the boat.
I think the application will go through without being declined automatically but may well be declined manually at a later stage.

I opened two additional accounts with TSB and two with BoS in December where previously I had the "we are not able to offer you a secondary current account" message.
Did wait 24 hrs between each application.

wow. thanks so much for that link/info. finally, after years of being refused a 2nd Lloyds vantage account I have one set up, funded and working nicely.

post of the year (2013 :p) for me.

I've finally received my activation code. Out of curiosity, rather than entering the details you give in the link above, I've tried to find out how to arrive at that link myself (ie how did you manage to find it out?). If I log in (fully now I have the activation code), and click on apply for another account, as with other posters, it just tells they can't offer a second account. I would just prefer to know the route to the above link instead (I've also tried doing what someone else has suggested on another thread with no joy). Hope you don't mind my asking.

If you click on my link of post 5 (when you are not logged in) at the very bottom of the page there is a tab to apply for an additional classic account. You just add vantage when it is opened.

When you click the apply button you have to log in. You are then directed to a secure site where you are only asked a couple of questions about your nationality and employment, no other details show on the page before you click the apply button.

When I tried this earlier the link took me to the same application page where all of the information is requested (for non existing account holders, there wasn't a log in option). I even tried without the link, Classic account, existing customers, apply, but it just took me to the same page as a non existing customer (ie with all of the questions, no log in option).

I admit defeat, it looks like I'll be ringing them to try for next one.

I've got 3 Lloyds Vantage, 3 Halifax Rewards and 2 Bos Vantage accounts as well as the TSB Enhance account

They all use the same internet banking software but on different servers.

I noticed that both Lloyds and Halifax allowed me to click the link to open an additional account and I was then presented with the short application form.
TSB and BoS both presented me with the "we are unable to open a secondary account" message.
I then looked at the URL of the application form on the Halifax site, copied it and pasted it into the address bar when logged into TSB and changed the domain from "halifax" to "tsb". When I then loaded the page I was at the form to apply for an additional account.

I have successfuly applied for 2 additional accounts this way.
Also works for BoS where I have now also applied for additional accounts.
